I loaded the "base" tune for a CAI and am wondering if I should "order" a tune from somewhere. I purchased the tuner from a local guy so I do not get any "free bama tunes" or such.

I was told by C&L that they could do me a tune?

I've searched the forums and read until I can't read any more... I'm still
unsure what to do, haha.

I can tell a "noise" difference with the new C&L system, but not much more than that so far.

Thanks in advance.

Custom Tune from reputable tuner... canned tunes are garbage because every car is different, and in a different climate/altitude, do it right and dyno tune it.

^^ normally I would agree with this but I don't in this case; for a simple bolt on CAI no reason to get a dyno tune and IIRC the Xcal 3's come with some tunes for the popular CAI's already on it.

I may put some exhaust on the rear and then maybe get a Dyno tune later this year when it cools off

That's great Greg!
Are the Cat Backs just for sound since the tune isn't affected, or will they produce any more hp/tq?

If they only make some more noise then I may just stay with a CAI, I don't have plans to mod this car beyond that (cats, cai),
In my mind, I want to keep this car a couple years and then move to a "newer" GT500.. I would rather save the "mod money" and push it toward that goal...

They are for noise; when I had 300 miles on my car it was dyno'd with the stock mufflers and then had Borla Stingers installed, dyno'd again and it picked up 0 power.

I would just keep it stock if you are getting a gt5. You wont get any extra money on trade or selling it for any of these little mods.

I ended up going with a tune from C&L and it seems to work very well. I can tell a good difference from the canned tune that I was using.

The C&L intake system and tune will be the only mods that I do to this car. It seems to drive very well now and feels more responsive.

No to make myself not do anything else and save it all for the GT5!
