I installed a MGW shifter on my newly acquired 2011 GT yesterday & the difference is profound. At this point everyone knows about the mt82 lockout & the factory shifter just plain feeling like crap. The MGW completely changes the feel. Shifter feels so much more solid & precise, it almost mimics the tri ax I had on my old cobra. I also installed a braided clutch line last week & between the 2 I feel like I can actually bang gears. If anyone is still on the fence & running a stock shifter on a mt82, you’re missing out.

I bought my 2014 GT-CS new from a dealer in Augusta, Ga. I pulled a trailer up there, bought my car, drove it to MGW to buy my new shifter, drove it back to the dealer and loaded it on my trailer, then pulled it home. Great folks there.

As someone who installed the Barton shifter, two post bracket, and Steeda transmission mount bushing first, I can emphatically say that the MGW should have been my first choice. The Barton shifter is a nice product, and it did firm things up along with the trans bushing, but given the excessive NVH at that point, I decided to buy the MGW shifter. Initially, I thought the MGW install would be too difficult, and it was a challenge, but it was definitely worth the effort. I did it in my garage on jack stands after watching every YouTube video available on the install.
