I'm considering getting a new throttle body along with the boss intake manifold but I'm not sure about the throttle body. I'm just looking for people who have installed an aftermarket throttle body (accufab, l&m, bbk, ford racing, etc) AND done a before and after dyno. I did some searching on this forum and around the web and didn't find much so I figured I'd post a thread about it.

I know a lot of people are going to say it's not worth it and not a good idea on a car that's close to stock and stuff like that. Idc lol. I'm just looking for actual results not speculation. And I know about the gains JPC saw with the L&M throttle body, so no need to post that.

So if you've installed an aftermarket throttle body and done a before/after dyno (or have a link where someone has) please post up. Thanks!

lol oh yeah forgot to mention i had seen that too but thanks! i actually did do a lot of searching, but found literally no real dyno results on the 85mm ones besides that one and the ford racing 90mm I found a dyno with like 8whp gains with a N/A car making ~460whp.

I know the two quickest/fastest bolt-on 2011+ cars run the stock TB. Do not live or die by dyno numbers. Take that for what it's worth.

Yeah I get what you're saying, but dyno numbers don't really lie if done on the same dyno. I'm just curious about some actual results people have seen.

I get what you're looking for but keep in mind that the same car on the same dyno with no changes can easily be off 5 to 10 hp between the 1st and 3rd pull within 1/2 an hour.

The dyno charts I've seen show the accufab one being the best. Its the most expensive too. What I've seen is no peak gains but gains of 15-20 thru the curve. If you do the Boss IM, you will lose power down low but some have gained that loss back with the Acufab unit. I think some regarded tuners say the Accufab is the one to go with.

Maybe the reason you're not finding the results is that they don't exist for a good reason.

I'm with Darren! I think that is just burning money until your putting down some real power... The throttle body talk is exhausted..

You should hit up the guys on here that are making real power and see what they use. I think Matt D may have changed his out and did some dyno/ real world testing with one but I'm not 100% positive.

Spend the money elsewhere man.

My suggestion would be to spend that money on a shitty set of tires and do a burnout episode on your youtube channel. Not joking. Do some sick donuts and some long burnouts! Lol.

Yeah that's what I've seen. It's not much more than the BBK and looks a lot better IMO.

A dyno with the hood up is hardly real world results.

Why wouldn't it be? Most of the time in real world driving, IATs are the same as the ambient air temps which is the same as a dyno with the hood open... At the track, of course under hood temps increase a lot, but they'll increase the same amount with either throttle body lol.

Lol actually in the future I'll be getting some 19x8.5 AMRs or 18x8s and some cheap skinny tires to have fun on.

If this car is still on the stock TB, that should speak volumes.

Damn that thing is a beast... I'm just looking at things to increase power without having to do aftermarket cams, heads, nitrous, f/i, etc and I don't want to do anything else to the exhaust.

Unless of course you want to add a little bit of underhood shineyness to your car lol

THIS. I got the L&M one because it was black and I thought it would look nicer with the Boss mani...then I never got the boss manifold and I can't even see my nice black TB : (

TB is a waste of money. To many of us making 700-1100whp on stock one.

Not to mention to many bolt on cars going fast on stock one.

This..... Make a ton of power and still on stock TB .... Too many other worthwhile mods that give you much more results for the dollar .... Suspension mods would be much higher on the list of things to buy .... Of course they won't show on a dyno but they sure give much more results
