The TSB has a part number to get it fixed. My research tells me that they will replace your pedal assembly with the part number thats in the GT500. The only diff betwwen the two is the spring.

So, either take your car to the fucktardiots at the stealership so they can slam gears at redline and replicate the issue to justify changing the unit out, or pull the spring yourself.

These instructions were so easy... Took me all of 10 minutes to get it done...

Actually, your use of words describing things made me want to do it, lol.....
Thanks!

wtf does that spring do? helps you push the clutch in?
but it looks like it would add tension? i'm so confuz.

hydraulic clutches are cake to push in anyway, probably some engineer with an automatic getting revenge.

Some people originally thought it was an extension spring (pull) but it's not. It's a compression spring (push)

Therefore, that spring, as it sits in the assembly bracket, is squished down, and when you push the pedal it assists you in pushing the pedal down. Problem is, when our clutch gets spinning at high RPMs, it's centrifugal force combined with the added spring weight pushing it down keeps the pedal pinned down.

By removing the big assist spring and leaving the upper shaft spring (GT500 type) you allow the pedal to return on it's own even at high centrifugal/RPM force.

In short, follow my DIY and smile more when shifting at 7K.

The OP and myself have 2013s so all year models have this so far. Don't bother checking if you have a 11 or 12, I assure you it's there.

Funny thing if you were to order a new Brake/Clutch pedal assm for any 2011+ mustang you now get it with out that spring.lol

And thanks OP!! Did alot of Hwy driving today tested it a few times at high RPM's went into gear every time!! Before I would down shift into 4th try to shift a 7000 and would have to let the RPM's drop to get into 5th.

Good to hear! :thumb2:

And yeah, Ford realized they fucked up and fixed the problem. The TSB says to replace it with that one you posted, but doing it yourself by yanking the spring is waaay better than letting some asshat touch my car.

Just did it in about 15 minutes and gotta say WOW! Wish I had known this sooner lol. Clutch feels a little different with the small amount of play at the top, but it's stiffer which feels good and no more getting sucked to the floor which is GREAT! Thanks for the info bro!

I'll definitely have to do this. I get the stuck pedal so much, even just tooling around having a little fun on my way to work causes it sometimes.

Glad you got it done quick! I started to try and follow another write up online about pulling the damn pins with tension still on the spring and wasted about 30min before I walked away...

I laid down and stared at it for a bit, and the "ah ha" moment happened, and suddenly it all made sense to me. And I did it my own damn way and made the write up to spare hearts and minds the agony I went through. :thumb2:

I don't see why the hydraulic clutch needs to be easier to push, it's cake already.
