We recommend that spark plug reading done at any shot. A true spark reading would be doing one blast on a brand new plug, immediately killing the car and pulling the plugs with out idling, then reading the strap for timing and porcelain for the fuel ring. Idling for as little as 10 seconds can wash a plug reading out. The fuel ring would be down at the bottom of the porcelain and usually requires cutting the plug apart to read it correctly. If done correctly this is the best way to tune and can tell you more than any wideband could ever tell you. Its something that you can learn for sure. Nothing to hard once you learn how to read plugs.
Honestly if you want the most out of nitrous and be safe read the spark plugs or just throw it on the dyno and have a reputable shop or tuner tune the car.
Even at 100 hp jetting we have seen mail order tunes just be way out of the ball park. We have seen timing just be so pulled out that the car make an extra 20-60 hp when tuned right.
