Also, a look at the active-aero shutter grille. This will be hidden behind a cosmetic grille.

So open during stop n' go traffic and closed when on the highway and such.

That's the idea.

wait til the motor goes bad the engine over heats and kills itself. cool but realistically silly on a street car imho.

I imagine there are safeguards in place to prevent that from happening just as there are now. These devices are already stock on the new taurus and have been for a few years. IMO these are perfect for a street car, not necessary on a race car. In the war to make cars avoid the gas guzzler tax and meet new regulations, automakers are getting creative and this is one piece that will help the Mustang get better gas mileage.

Well the silly idea is on the Taurus, Focus, Escape, Lincoln's, Dodge, Cadillacs, Chevys...so I hope it's proven itself

I wouldn't be surprised if ford added the mustang to the list of vehicles using some sort of torque vectoring control. I don't think the mustang community would like it though...

You don't? The current Mustangs have it. Its called the Torsen differential and it's gotten rave reviews.

hmm had no clue. i would still be worried about it.

Are you worried about your water pump? I'd bet they have the same failure rate. Good thing the computer will turn your car off before it overheats though....

Well considering fords torque vector control currently controls front and rear wheels, I don't see how your statement is valid..I'm not a naysayer no need to try and logically defy me =P

i actually had no idea the car would do that. is this programmed into the 05-09 cars?

Well the torque vector control on the Taurus for instance is electronic controlled, whereas the Torsen is mechanical but it does the same thing. As far as applying the front brakes in a turn to eliminate understeer, yes that could be very unpopular.

Yep. The car goes into limp mode and will shut the car off. Its a new thing that started with the S197 platform. It can sense problems and will turn off 4 cylinders first, then all 8 if the problem is really bad.

Torque vectoring is cool, but annoying if for nothing but the amount of brake dust it puts on the wheels. I swear I have to clean these wheels three times a week.

That's why you should always turn your advance track system off. Drive me nuts. When I get around to actually tuning the car, I am going to hard code it so it is disabled. I did the same thing in my 07. Even my MPG got better.

I'm a big boy Ford. I can drive my own car.

Also Fusion and I think Fiesta. Though it isn't clear what options get it installed (that's a debate on a Fusion forum right now--seems random so far).

Functional vents, 6 piston front/4 piston rear brakes, what looks to be a two-piece rotor, IRS, Tech on the steering wheel, fat ass tires on sick ass wheels.

I might have to become a cliche and buy me a new lieutenant car.

Well at least on this forum someone didn't over react to the picture of his hand on the turn signal lever and go "look look, it's got paddle shifters and a dual clutch transmission". Yeah, that actually happened elsewhere.
