First track of the year yesterday . Three things stood out. First was there was only one novice group and two intermediate groups. Usually the opposite. Second, there was only one other Mustang besides my 2005, and that was a late model GT350. 35-40 cars total. Third, compared to last year, it was 15°F warmer, but I removed the front license plate bracket which blocks part of the lower grill opening. Despite being warmer, my 5R55S ran 20°F cooler. Last year, it hit 240°. This year, 220°.

One more thing. Track day and E85 will give you this. IMG_0361.jpegIMG_0360.jpeg

4 MPG on corn seems pretty reasonable for a track day. I can't remember what the gauge said last time I went to the strip but I think it was worse than that.

Track days are getting more expensive, and its becomming more of a rich guy thing ($400/day for 2025). High dollar cars, guys driving over their skill level. Rent a race car for $8000 for the DAY etc.
