The Coyote motor is quite a bit bigger than a LS though.

This. Remember, the LS is still a pushrod while the Coyote is DOHC. Our heads are HUGE. I bet it wouldn't fit--at least without lots of cutting

I HOPE SO BEFORE I'M NOT ABLE TO ORDER A 2014. IN THE CASE THAT I DON'T LIKE THE NEW S550.

2 door fusion :ugh1:

if Ford were to have skipped the 05-14 generation, this would fit in line perfectly right after the new edge, if this is indeed what the design is going towards

The only things that concern me with this new design #1 room under the hood with the 5.0 liter with super chargers & turbo's if to tight it could cause issues for inthusiest that enjoy modding I hope they leave room for that so the motor would need to set further back into firewall for room in front of engine for centrifugal & most turbo setups.
#2 I am concerned with the IRS rear I know its better for corner carving but im not a corner carver as much as I am a strait line drag racer. I also know IRS can be setup to work for drag racing but how long will it take for the aftermarket to catch up to have a stout IRS & diff to launch 1000 rwhp & TQ and hold up.. I know the aftermarket will catch up quickly but how quickly and how strong will they be able to make the IRS?? I hope Ford gives them a strong enough platform to be able to make the IRS & diff strong and durable enough for serious power and launches on real slicks.. this can be done but Ford better be on there game.. FORD PLEASE DONT F THIS UP!

I give it 6 months before one of these big time drag companies releases a 9" kit for the new Mustang or retrofits a live axle into the next gen cars and I give it 9 months before folks who are serious about drag racing start swapping with regularity. That is a complete lack of faith on the part of the community that Ford will design an IRS that can be made to work at the strip and made to work well. This is not some hodgepodge hack it in Cobra IRS unit with so many compromises that it just flat out sucks, this is a ground up new design. Modern multilink IRS units are pretty damn stout and so long as Ford sticks to something 8.8 or larger with some decent halfshafts and driveshaft, I doubt you'll have any issues with fragging them like first generation Cobra IRS units. I would be MORE worried about the attachment points to the chassis than I would be the IRS unit itself.

Some of the bigger aftermarket parts outfits are apparently already in the loop with the new chassis, so I would imagine there are already parts in early stage of development--or at least they are thinking about them. I doubt it will take very long for parts to be available to throw on the new car.

I would expect there to be some room for a supercharger--remember that the European pedestrian crash regulations are requiring some space between the engine and hood (thus all the chunky-looking Mercedes, etc. showing up). Besides, how many cowl hoods are available for existing models? That isn't going to change for the new one. I have no doubt a working application will show up quickly after release.

If you look back in this thread you will see early spy photos of the engine bay. The engine is pushed back into the firewall, I assume mostly for a better weight distribution. So there should be plenty of room for Centri blowers and turbos.
