55 mph and 2600 RPMs in 7th gear! That is odd to look at

The other dash pic in the article shows 55 in 4th gear. You would need a 3.90 ring & pinion to go 55 in 4th with a 27" tire. So that doesn't exactly add up.

Interesting, 1964.5 on the odometer and 289 on the miles to empty!

Here it shows some of the 2018 Mustang and the cluster gauges, but it's short.

If the engines are getting bumps in power one has to wonder where the 2.3 is going to land.

All the other EB engines seems to have gone to a direct and port injection setup. I suspect the 2.3 may do the same. Also if the 2.3 in the Focus RS is making 350 hp at 6000 and 350 ft-lbs at 3200, I would bet the next 2.3 Mustang will be close to those numbers.

I know the configurator is online now. Anyone know when you can actually order one, or when they are expected to be hitting the lots?

You can find low mileage used C7 Vette's all day long for under the price of a well equipped 2018 GT Premium with PP, which is what I would order.

Gs would be allot more. The new 2018 will have better and wider rims and tire options which would help. 2lt stingray would be very nice. just dont know what I'm suppose to do with the 7 year old and my 2 year old.. haha damn.

I spec'd out a 2018 Mustang EB with the 10 spd auto as the only option.
It was $ 28K

Same car, same trans in a GT was 38K
10K difference.

No way a base GT with an auto is worth 38K.

Hard to believe a fully optioned GT is in the upper 40's.

This is how Ford will drive buyers to the 2.3 EB. This will help Ford meet the CAFE requirements. Also it's how they leverage the 5.0 to make more $$$$.

I know, right!!!

Unless I decide to pick up a 2017 GT on the cheap when the 2018s hit the showroom floor, I may have just bought my last "new" Mustang.

That puts it out of the reach for many of your "traditional" Mustang buyers I would think. For comparison, when I graduated college and got a "real" job, I bought a brand new '99GT off the lot for under $20K out the door. It was a base model, but it did what I wanted it to do.

Upper 40s would be more than I would want to spend, that's for sure. With the new model, I wouldn't think there would be many deals available, unless you go with a leftover '17.
