You guys are increadible,,,The tuner in question hates these forums and all the BS on them. I didn't want to flip his name out there. This is confirmed and there is an issue with #8.

Dude noone is telling you that you're lying. I for one believe you, I knew right from the start that a tune is not going to cause repeated failure of the SAME cylinder in every car.

Regardless of who the tuner is, this is good information to have, and it's proof that ford is trying to sweep it under the rug and cover their asses, but this problem is going to come back around and screw them eventually.

Job 2 started late July I believe, either that or beginning of August.

I believe all cars built before August 16th 2010. I'm not buying into the only cars with problems are job 1 cars. The latest car we know of on here is a 2012 model.

Yes it would be interesting. Could be the tuner just taking the pressure off of him and saying that this is a problem of the stock parts not a tune.

It's all hearsay until I see it documented. The stock engines in question could have been victims of " no oil ". We all know about the low factory fill.

Here's the scoop...

My service manager is off today, so I called Springfield Ford myself. After going through a couple different people I was directed to the person who handles "heavy engine repair". I spoke to Danny in service at Springfield Ford. They currently have no Mustangs in for any sort of engine repair. One month ago they did replace a motor in a 5.0L. He pulled up the repair order and gave me details on it. That particular vehicle was a rental car. It came in for a random misfire. They could never pinpoint the specific cylinder. Compression and leak down tests came back good. PCM tests showed unaltered. After replacing all spark plugs, all injectors, and the fuel rail the misfire was still present. Tech hotline recommended and approved an engine replacement. A new crate motor from Ford was installed, problem solved and vehicle sent on its way.

That is the ONLY Mustang they've had for any sort of engine related concerns.

Edit: For anyone wondering, he said it was an automatic, as it should be for a rental car.

I think that settles that.
