In my search for the perfect sub setup for my preferences, I ended up purchasing 4 different setups total. The JL ported 8 and Ported 10" Were both used for about a week. The powered MTX i purchased on here from a member on here about a year ago. Everything works perfect. The 10w3 box was originally sealed but I added a 2 inch port using PVC tuned to 35 hz to get a little more out of it. The port isn't that pretty but its in the back of the box so you can't see it anyway. It definitely worked out though and sounds great. The 8" Micro Sub is the most badass 8" Sub ive ever heard. It powerful for its size. Fell free to ask me any questions I may not have answered

JL 8w3 Micro Sub Ported box (4 Ohm) - $180 shipped

JL 10w3 Ported in custom box (4 Ohm) - SOLD

Interested in the ones molded for the trunk, the MTX and one of the JL's. Any pics of how they fit in the trunk?

What setup did you find that you ended up keeping?

Just picked up a 2013 Boss and the stock radio.. well.. it won't be around long..

Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I should have thought of that before I took them out (doh!). Ill tell you this - both the MTX and the JL10W3 fit very well and look real clean. The JL looks the best though because its carpeted and matches almost perfect. I ended up going with a 12w3 ported setup that takes up half the trunk. All of these subs sound good though. Im just an extreme audiophile. I spent $800 on my front speakers and $2500 sound deadening my bedroom/studio and i do recording/mastering of music if that gives you any idea ;).

The MTX is as plug and play as it gets, but its not really plug n play per say. You still have to run the power wire through the firewall to the battery, run the remote wire to the fuse box, ground to the frame, and use a line output converter to install it.

To help you out, I'll take a photo of the MTX box in my trunk with an MTX 7500 12" in it. But it can't be till after work. lol

Thanks man, I appreciate the shit out of it :thumb:

Which one sounded the best of the three you have listed?

Honestly its kind of a matter of preference... If i had to pick, id say the 10W3

what are the outer dimensions of the JL boxes? Might take one of these off your hands for my Mach 1.

ok - Outter dimensions of the JL Box

Height = 13"
Depth = 12-3/4"
Length = This part is kind of tricky because the length varies to fit the form of the back of the trunk (where the tail light is). The longest part is 23" though. I really couldn't guaranty it would fit a mach 1 (im assuming you're talking about a new edge 'Stang)

Once the holidays are over, I'll let you know. I'd love to have a good sub in the Mach. I'm assuming those dimensions were for the 10w3 box?

I meant outer dimensions of the 10W3 box. I have a vert so it's a tight fit since the trunk is so small.

PM me your bottom dollar for the JL box along with dimensions.
