Has anyone on here dealt with the new 358 CI mod motor yet. If so what combos have yall put togther. Im going overseas has a contractor and im looking a building the motor in my 09 gt. I am interested in the 358 and a 3.6 whipple or 4.2 KB. Also going to invest in a TR 6060. What kind of fuel system would i need or what size pumps? At the time of the build money will not be a issue. Also would it be better with a 9 in or 8.8. What head and cam combo?

I would suggest a Stage 3 Livernois 3V set of heads or even a set of worked 4Vs since you said that money isn't going to be an issue. It's really your choice between the 3.6 and the 4.2 LC KB Supercharger either one is going to get the job done. Fuel System will need to be on the heavier side with. Triple Pump system, a site vendor Fore will be good for all the fuel system needs as far as that goes. The rear also comes down to your choice, the 8.8 as long as it's built will be able to handle the power, but the 9" will get the job done for sure. It looks like your looking to stay manual with the TR6060 but another option will be the new T56 magnum that they are talking about releasing soon. A solid clutch like a McLeod RST or even RXT will be a good choice to go with as far as clutches.

And anything further stated by SD above....

its still in the testing phase though. are you doing a 4.6 or a 5.4 block?

I think he refers to a 3.700 bore 5.4L shortblock like the one that Livernois offers.

That's what I'm thinking too but I wanted to make sure. Their site says it is set up as a four valve engine. Hell.....set of Ford GT Supercar heads, sheetmetal intake, twin 88mm ProMod turbos.

and kaboom! ;-)

I have a set of new CNC'd FGT heads with stock cams, all new done by Ron@foxlake in Miami if someone wants them.

Sorry for the hijack. Hope this way I'll remember to post a for sale thread in the proper section. :-D

Made a thread on them:

Back on topic, I think we were one of the first ones who tried that combination on an alu block some time ago.

I would stay stock bore/stroke.

If you, OP, want more information, please contact me via PM.

Define "new 358 CI mod motor" as it applies here.

its a new engine by livernois. its based of a 5.4 liter out of a gt supercar. Andy at livernois said they used gt supercar heads that are fully ported. Its sleeved with a 3.700 stroke. said they have different configureations they use. it all depends on what type pistons and rods i want to use. if any more questions just ask.

Oh I was thinking he was talking about a factory motor.

You have lost your mind, but I like how you think....I would just add a secondary fuel system for E85 or race gas on demand!

You and your turbo systems SD.

Well does that make him a forced induction diva?

Well.........there is a way to run your stock 3V computer with 4V heads. It is sorta a pain in the butt mechanically and in tuning.

I dunno if anyone else has done it.

There's a car with that engine ALMOST running 6s, but you guys here don't like him.

A GT500 PCM/harness swap would be ideal and easier at the end (for a lot of reasons) but I don't see why it wouldn't work if you get to fabricate the proper reluctor for the passenger's side cam gear so the CMP would work.

On the fuel on demand, a return system with a hobbs switched pump(s) would do it.

John Tymensky at Modular Performance is probably the first person to have built one of these.....around 2002 or 2003 if I'm not mistaken. He wasn't impressed. Almost demands a power adder.

BEST way to do it when you don't have a stubborn person to deal with!:beerchug2:
