John Tymensky at Modular Performance is probably the first person to have built one of these.....around 2002 or 2003 if I'm not mistaken. He wasn't impressed. Almost demands a power adder.

I think no one was impressed with the sleeves available then.
I still wouldn't run much boost on it in a STREET car.
Race car........fill dat bitch and crank da boost!:bonebh::bonebh:

it will have a blower of some sort on it. whether it be a 3.6 KB, a Vortec v-7 ysi trim or a F1r procharger. I called about all these setups today and right now im looking at about 25k for motor and blower.

Had nothing to do with the sleeves, Bill. John told me personally that it wouldn't rpm worth a shit nor would it build middle rpm power. Even with four valve heads it had decent low speed response but not much power over a standard 5.4 engine. Higher up....same thing. Just didn't make a lot of power over the standard 5.4 setup.

Now....add boost, however, and it was a bad motherfucker.

Not only that, I've had the chance to tune both bored typical combinations (358 and 323) with FI and both showed pretty nice torque numbers compared to a standard bore FI combos but I would not take the risk, some times shit happens, and with these you just have to send everything to the trash.

A standard 5.4L built with the same quality stuff inside would be 1.5-2k$ less.

Why not a twin turbo setup?

Yup...............ps.....you don't have to fab a wheel for the passenger side. There's another way doing it.

Cool, I've never done or thought about it until I read this thread so that came out of my head, I said it because of the 5 tooth against the 1 tooth of the 2v/4v. If it is easier then even better, but I still think I would go with the pcm/harness swap.

havent thught about a twin setup. I want to drive it on the street somewhat. what size would work well.

What are your power goals?

Turbo's while not in boost are like a normally aspirated car so that won't pose a problem.

im lookin for 1000+ at the wheels. Andy at Livernois said it would be easier on the engine and blower with more cubes.

What size turbos. Really dont want 88mms.

It makes it easier and its made on less boost yes, but with a nice twin setup you can easily make 1000 rwhp with stock displacment especially using the Supercar 5.4.
