Good Morning, I am curious for some opinions on a 4.0 to 4.6 swap in a 2007 mustang. I have done some research and most say its pointless for the price and to simply do a coyote swap for more bang for your buck or to sell the 4.0 and buy a 4.6. This I completely understand but under my circumstances I feel its a little considerable to do the 4.0 to 4.6. Let me explain. I am in the mix of purchasing a 2008 4.6 3v engine with nothing but a timing issue for around $600. I also have TR-3650's from 05-09 lined up as well for around $600. The prices Im getting seem to create a bit of a vision where the swap could be worth it. I am aware that I would need more things (Driveshaft, rearend, Clutch, etc.) But I could simply find a parts car or junkyard car and get most things for about another $600-$1000 at most. Along with a timing fix for another $100 and miscellaneous things like brakes and things of that nature for another $500 it almost seems like $2.5k for all needs. Not to mention the $800-$1000 I could get back from my current 4.0 Engine and manual transmission. Is this worth it or should I hold off?
