I got into it with a camaro guy earlier. He said zL1 camaro crushes the 2013 gt500. I laughed. He said Chevy runs deep. I replied. Chevy does run deep on tax payer dollars. He walked away.

buy one. and buy it from this man. Brian is the best around, and his dealership will hook you up with great pricing.

I've just about got my brother in law talked into giving Brian a visit.

Louie, you're very kind! I love nothing more than helping out a fellow Mustang enthusiast!

IMO be happy with what you have. If you are always chasing the best mustang you will forever be trading in your car and one day wonder why you are in massive debt.

Agree. There will always be something better and faster out there. Hell I'd love to have a new Porsche if I could.

How come?

My Mustang doesn't handle 7,000lbs of crushed granite as well as my Cummins Ram :)
If I need comfort, I'll drive the GLK to work. But honestly I drive my Cummins 90% of the time. It get's 23mpg city/hwy

Point is, If I can only have one vehicle, I wouldn't own a Mustang (or any 2 door coupe), I'd have a Cummins pick-up or 7.3L Excursion... I need the utility to pull the race car trailers and for things I need to get done around the house (see the granite comment).

If I was young, dumb and full of...., I'd be all over the new 5.0 w/ 0%@60months. But I'm 40, I have many other priorities in life these days.
Plus, I still like my S/C 3v, it does the same speed in Houston traffic as the new 5.0 :thud:
BUT I must admit... now that School Bus Yellow is out, I'm interested, but I don't think that color is offered in the new GT500. which would be the only new Mustang I'd buy if I got rid of my 09.

So.. I test drove a 2013 today. It was a base auto with 3.15? rear gear. It was what was on the lot. I really wasn't looking for the extra's that come with the premium, as I just wanted to drive one.

Over all I wasn't overly impressed. It's got some pull to it and it drives out nice. For what I drove today , It desperately needed more rear gear. That being said, I don't think I'd make the 2 for 1 trade for that. However, the salesman told me they were getting a track pack car in next week. I plan to go back and drive it. I think with the 3:73's it'll be a lot more fun and a lot more car. So still swinging on the fence.

I do like the like feel of the car and the sound of the coyote is nice, they had Borla's on this car and it sound pretty sweet. Still not convinced at this point though. Will have to drive the track pack car and see.

I drove a loaded down C/S with the 3.15s....it sucked. I mean it ran good but not like 'OMG this is awesome'. Then I drove my buddys base 3:73 car with a tune....and I was like Ooooohh.

FWIW I also drove an 02 405HP z06. THAT was fun! I'd buy that thing 10x over a 5.0

Yep, that was my feeling completely, it ran good but definately not an OMG it's awesome.. but I am very anxious to drive a car with the 3:73's and 6 spd manual as I'm sure it'll feel like a different car.

Actually the 3.15's are a pretty good gear with the autos with the 3.31's being the best gears with the autos. A tune makes a night and day difference.

Not a fair comparison. If the auto had had a tune you would have been just as impressive as the other car, and maybe more.

I have the 3.73s, but I'm not too fond of them for the street. The gears are a little too short (1st gear is practically useless unless you wanna destroy a set of tires). I'm about to drop down to a 3.31.

hmm.. Interesting. The transmission ratio must be tight. Because I run 4:10's in my 06 and ran 4:10's in all my previous foxes.

And they need it. But this is a totally different animal. 1st gear in the auto trannys are 4.17's. Plenty to get you out of the hole. Granted I'm on street tires but my car even with some suspension work can just destroy the tires if I don't feather the throttle.

You should try a 3.73 car with manual its really a big differnce to the 3.31 or 3.10 cars ...in my opinion the gears really make a huge differnce in the M6 cars

Yea I had a 3.73 from factory in my 5.0 man, I just pulled it and put a 3.55 in it.
