After getting a price for $1k to redo my Shelby stripes on my car today, I once again hate the car and think the 5.0 route is the easy way out lol.

Well, the time has come and decision has been made. I know that either car done right would make me happy, I also know that they're are great reason's to go either way. That being said, I do appreciate all the feed back you guys have given me. so....

After breaking everything down, I've decided that I like the 5.0's but not in love with them enough to have the car payment. I like having my truck and my money to play with.

so in the words of the signature of mikeyfitz, I'm getting my boost bitches!

I'm going to order a kit probably by next week. Build thread will follow

^ I'm probably just going to get a small kit, either vortech or paxton. I'm stock internals, so nothing big. I'm just wanting ot push around 450 to the wheels. it should hold that with a good tune. I emailed a tuner/dyno shop last night, so I'm waiting on some feedback from him before I order something.

Same exact boat here as well. I DD my car, but less than 20 miles a day and I drive like a 90 year old lol

Good choice OP. You can always build it later for more if you want.

Thanks, I'm happy with the choice, it may be awhile before the build I've a lot of family things going on lately, but once the dust settles I plan on hitting it pretty heavy. Yep, can always build especially since it's paid for.

Good decision. I couldn't be happier with my 500 rwhp paid for Mustang.

thanks, I'm going to order some new wheels, and my s/c in the near future. I imagine it's going to be a blast to drive at least until I get used to it. lol

I would've been dissapointed with anything less from you. But it's all good.

great decision. You will be happier and faster.. AND better looking..

Thanks, I also agree. The new cars are so big. I like them, but they're big and I just couldn't get past it. Apples to apples, I should still be faster than a stock 5.0 and be paid for.

Good luck man. I plan on going this route (but with a Roush blower) if I can ever manage to save up the cash. My damn house is a money pit. Every time I go to pull the trigger, something goes wrong with the house and the money gets spent on that.

Good choice man. My car is almost paid for. Really close now and I've thought about trading in a bunch of times. The closer it gets, the closer I am to a full build with blower for less than the price of a brand new car. I love my car too much to trade for a 5.0 right now. A used 2007 gt500 on the other hand is pretty tempting haha

paid for vs payments and more debt

I'll take paid for...
Debt Free for the past 3 years. It's really a good feeling.

and OP... don't do a blower! TURBO!!!!

as for throwing money away... it doesn't matter what motor is in the Mustang GT... it's still a Mustang GT, no matter the mods we do, we are all throwing money away. It's mass produced car that will be worth 6g's in 10 years (YMMV), it's nothing special (ala Saleen, Shelby, Roush, Etc.).... but it is fun to spend money on :)
