Yep - thank you.

Had a little wrench time yesterday - removed most of the remaining stuff along with the converter to flex plate nuts. Man, spinning the converter/plate was TOUGH - had to use a pry bar to get it to move at all.

Hopefully tonight I'll have time to get the trans out. All that remains is a few electrical harnesses at the top that I can reach, the cross brace, and the trans to engine bolts.

Crown, how much power/torque? Did it break on a downshift?

Was off the bottle and just over 700

No, unfortunately it was shift into second on the street no less. I think I may have been twisted before as my shift symptoms did not make sense with much else. My bet is the damn thing was twisted before. Was running over 800 on the bottle mostly street tho.

One hit at 700/635 mine was shit. A 5r will not live with power. I would rate it the same as the stock motor , around 450 rwhp and to 550 rwhp with all the upgrades there are. JMO

+1 ^^ Some get away with it for a while like the guys running 500 on stock rods. Death is inevitable.

My TCI shaft broke on a shift into 3rd on the street as well some where in the 700 rwhp range. Truth is as Billie posted the 5R55 isn't going to live with power as all of the internal parts are very small and light duty.

That's ONE of the places my stock shaft broke, LOL

I will say that I'm at least a little re-assured by my TCI purchase in that all of you reporting breaking the TCI shafts are making a lot more power then I will. :D

Are these TCI input shafts that are being broken and twisted the 300M ones or some cryo-hardened piece? Just getting ready to buy the level 10 one and saw TCI had the "same" 300M input shaft for $100 cheaper.

For what it's worth, my TCI input shaft has held up to a solid year of abuse now. I don't make nearly as much power as the guys who've broken them do, though.

For the extra $100 it's probably worth getting the Level 10 piece. I was in a rush to get the car back up and bought the TCI one without properly researching.

I am running the Level 10 piece and it has held up for me. I am probably at the 550rwhp limit so I would not be shocked if / when my 5r blows.
