Hello. I just swapped out my existing 6r80 for a freshly built one in my 2013 mustang gt. Do I absolutely need to update the idn/valve body i.d.? I updated the solenoid strategy but im unable to update the idn and im having some issues with the trans. How would it effect things if the idn was not updated to match the new valve body?

I have the solenoid strategy but not the idn. Dropped the pan to look at the valve body but the valve body i.d. isnt legible. Is there any way around this besides getting a new valve body?

Who built it for you? That would be the person to ask.

Well thats the thing... I was told I didnt need the idn and all I need is the solenoid strategy. But this confuses me, I thought I needed both. The trans runs very roughly.

You need the solenoid body strategy, as well as the solenoid body ID. Period.

Talk to your builder and hopefully they documented this somewhere. Without the items you can't properly program strategy
