Hi everyone,
Can you please take a look at my gear pattern photos?
This is a new Richmond gear set in a Ford 8.8 rear axle.
Do the drive and coast patterns look
correct, or do they need adjustment?

If they need adjustment, should I:
My backlash measures between 0.18 and 0.20 mm across six different ring gear teeth.

add or remove pinion shim?
or just adjust the backlash?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Not an expert, done this only two times, the drive side looks for me acceptable, the coast not so good. Did you apply enough pressure when you rotate it with color?
And, in the end it is just noise, when you hear too much of it, do it again. I modified my driveshaft 4 times before I found the acceptable solution. If you can do it yourself, it is always a win.
