Putting the 10pt in mine was where I decided it wouldn't be a street car anymore. To easy to crack your head on a bar in a wreck on the street. Hindsight I would have sold this car, bought a fox for the track and a cheapish fun daily. It is too easy to get these cars quick though, it progresses and one day you are knocking on 10pt territory. If you want to keep racing it you gotta bite the bullet or have some self restraint to not make it quicker (not sure how people do that)

^^^ good points.

If I ever do another race car, I am going to look for a roller on racing junk or where-ever---awesome deals are to be had out there.

Marc had a good comment also---often times when you try to do both, you end up with something that does neither well.

However--there are always exceptions to the rule. There are people out there that have the talent and dedication to make it work. If it wasn't hard, everyone would have an 8 second street car that they could drive everyday of the week.

Glad to see these details showing up.
I'm a person that wants all i can get but it is very easy for a all out minded individual to go past the point of no return.
Be careful what u wish for...
You may not like it if you don't do the homework.. We as enthusiast should always remember BALANCE things..
Always consider what's the trade off and decide if you can live and be happy with the end result of what you build when going big its easy to make a wrong turn.
You always should consider the entire car not just the HP.
I agree as pfracer stated (it takes talent and dedication to make it work)

I would just about rather do it this way. Just for the simple fact of not turning it into an uncomfortable street car, that's not really a racecar..jmo.

I spent about three hours driving our 2010 GT and it was a very formative experience. My True Street car is faster than the 2010, but many sacrifices were made to get there. My primary complaints about street driving my True Street car are dealing with the 25.2, running C16, worrying about temperatures, and worrying about parts like the "Pro Gear" and "Pro Race Brakes" which can be used on the street, but are not as durable as their more streetable counterparts. I REALLY enjoyed driving the 2010 up the coast near Fort Lauderdale, but I'm a nervous wreck every time my drive my True Street car.

Two Cents.

My dad told me this over and over while I was building my car. In fact, I quoted him in the "Horse's Sense" section of the next article which should be out next month.

I chose RPM Rollbars
http://rpmrollbar.com
The roll bar with removable swingouts still allows full factory seat movement i went cromo not the cheapest roll bar available but its one if the best fit/design and finish that's avail way better than mms. And it's NHRA approved.
not at any time does the roll bar get in the way.
It's a sweet setup..
In my opinion if you are ok driving the car on the street with a suspension setup for drag racin rear anti roll bar front sway bar deleted and dont mind it you will be ok with a faster strip / street car with up to a well thought out properly installed 10 point but i dont do junk cheap roll cages. however i don't daily drive my car i drive it when i feel like it it may sit a week or two then i take her for a spin or drive ti work some days even drive it to church with kid or a track day i will drive it as long as 2 hrs one way on drag radials to 1/4 mile track let it cool down and rip off passes and drive back home all while being faster than many cars that are trailed to the track. Im not sure exactly the next phase of my car but its now in the planning stage im already dead set on engine modifications but not power adder side. When we go to track we usually have someone drag a car hauler with winch just to be prepared for worse case scenario.
