ok guys I know plenty of things will play into this but I'm wondering if anyone knows how much brake dive they have under hard braking. I know many veriables play into this.

I ask my question because.

I have built a splitter for my car. now that I have it done I have questioned myself on how low it is. My splitter is 2" from the ground sitting normal. I'm concerned that mashing the brakes in a brake zone is going to cause my splitter to bury itself in the pavement and loosing control of the car.

shocks are adjustable springs rates run between 450 700 depending.

anti dive kit installed as well as the pick up points raised for the front lower control arms.

I'm not so much worried about the splitter as I am about not having control of my car under hard braking cause the car is basically riding on the splitter but I also want to get the most positive effect from having the splitter low

What you first need to do is see how much strut travel you have at normal drive height and under normal to severe braking .

The bast way is to use some o-rings or zip ties an attach them around or over your struts , run them down all the way to the bottom of the shaft.

Then go take a drive as you would normally , then come back and jack up the car and see how much the ties or o-rings moved up...mesure and repeat process under different driving conditions .

This will give you a perfect measurement to determine how much your front suspension is moving under all different conditions , then you can determine how much to lower the car and use your splitter also without damage .

never thought of that. so If I understand you right, Put some zip ties around the base of the shock. drive it and as the shock compresses it will move the zip tie higher. measure the difference from the base to the zip tie and it wil give you a pretty good ideal how much the nose dives under braking.

yep ! So let say your splitter is 2" of the ground but you see the zip tie moving up 2 1/2 up the shaft = BROKEN SPLITTER

Do you have coil overs with those spring rates of 450-700 ?

And if you want to fine-tune your splitter clearance, you can add a sacrificial strip of pine to the underside and see just how much gets worn off after a handful of laps, and that will give you your splitter clearance if you come up high on the shock measurement.

How did you raise your pickup points, and what are you doing for anti-dive up front?

pickup points are changed in the K-member. the k-member is designed so that I can raise and lower the pickup points for the front of the a-arm . I'm also running a steeda rear bushing mount kit to get rid of the factory bushing and help eliminate dive. and a rear a-arm relocation kit .
