funny how I'm the F-tard when no one answers the questions. 3 2011's in the 10s other shops ordered theirs and still not one auto. I'm sure someone will in time.. but makes you think a little....

yes you can make anything fast, but are you going to take your $6K built tranny and 3K stall converter up and down hills? hahaha..

ahhh.. but why answer when you can say hateful things :beerdrink:

i'm a bracket racer at heart and when a stick shift car pulls into the stagings lanes there's a f'n traffic jam of people trying to pull behind the duck with a clutch :) yes i've done it and so have you SD.
In ModMotor, Ultra Stang, and Super Stang. Most of them are easy pickin's.

Although I remember being on the other side of that equation years ago with the Fairmont. What they learned real quick was that I was smart enough to buy a CLUTCHLESS Jerico.

:LMAO:

Yes, we will. Most of us do it a lot. Then again, you're not really smart enough to understand how the modern automatics work anyway.

WOW! FAIL!
He does that a lot.

hell yea.. hawgs only 5'2. Feet barely reach the gas much less gas and clutch.. hahahaa :roflmao:

Don lives in So cal where he has to share the road with 10 million illegals so there is too much stop and go. So I give him a pass

Here is my point.. Look at all the shops buying the 5.0... how many are buying autos? look at Lamborghini, Porsche, and Ferrari.. ask for an auto and they will laugh you out.

there is more to a sports car then a small straight line....

im not to up on my european supercars, but im pretty sure most of them now use twin clutch transmissions, which is basically driven like an auto, and have paddle shifters F1 style for lightning fast shifts

Exactly Ferrari and Lamborghini both recently put out press releases that they are looking to stop producing cars with traditional standard transmissions. And as far as Porsche, they came out with what they call a PDK auto trans., that in there own words makes a manual six speed inferior not only in a straight line but around a track too.

Someone should really read some autoblog.com or at least pick up a Car And Driver every now and then!

Errrr...ummm... thats nice it's some new thing that is more in the middle of the two.. still not a full blown auto.

Since you like Car and driver so much why dont you see if it was an auto that was used for their test? or how about in 05.

hate me as you must. But I was the only one to give an answer to the OP.
Yes the lazy drivers thing was a joke, but my point was there also. Some shop will buy an auto and will make upgrades for it and hopefully give us a stock dyno to see how much is lost and then the big question how much tq can the thing handle.

man what a ruff crowd..

Gee, all the lambos my buddy's have had are auto's? Well, double clutch or whatever they call it, there is no clutch pedal, lets put it that way.

I know evo ordered an auto, that was the first one that fred ordered. they went out to find a stick as well. The first thing when i said i was gonna order one to fred was. Get the auto!

E gear is what the lambo's have.

I think a auto car is going to surprise a few people, lets just hope it holds up to a little abuse.

If I were planning on road racing or never going to the drag strip, I would want a manual trans. But, I'm a drag racer and I've always won the most money at our tracks with automatics due to their consistency. The 1/4 mile list on this site shows the quickest 12 cars are all automatics. 23 of the top 25 are automatics. 42 of the top 50 are automatics. My car is way down the list at #82, but you'll the a huge majority of our quick S197's (according to our own list here) are automatics.

Magnaflow exhaust used an auto for their exhaust sound clips and dyno on their website, although you never know how believable that is.

:wtf:???

Last I looked, Top Fuel didn't use any transmission at all.

Who is Don H?

Sorry Don, my Dads name is Don and his middle inital is H, as a matter of fact he pulled a fith wheeler and a boat at the same time with an automatic. I thought (obviously wrong) that top fuelers ran a 2 speed. O guess what sounds like a shift is the trans completely locking up.

Since I cant read I found this.. I was looking for something else.. but.. haha

"the six-speed automatic surprised and pleased as well. We had the opportunity to test one on a short drag strip alongside a Camaro SS also equipped with a six-speed automatic. With firm quick up-shifts we clicked off a 8.60 second 1/8 mile run in the 2011 Mustang GT with a top speed of 86.70 mph. Our fastest 1/8 mile run in the 2010 Camaro SS was a much slower 9.58 seconds at 80.14 mph. The Camaro by comparison felt sluggish and heavy with a sloppier shifting transmission."

Looks like you just shot it up a whole new level. Try reading all the post.

1) the op was talking about why no one(most likely meaning the shops) are not buying an auto.... Nothing about autos cant be fast

2) I was playing with people about autos being for lazy people... did that hurt your feelings?

3) Some on here they have recognized that many shops didn't buy an auto. So there must be some reason.

4) While playing with the crowd I stated I was referring to SPORTS cars. If you think only doing a 1/4 mile good makes a good sports car you have lots to learn.

5) As I stated before, the test cars car and driver and other mags mostly use are what? They must all be retarded too huh..

Man...what an idiot:roflmao: I will guarantee everyone ,that this fool can only drive a stick from first to second gear... and also not launch correctly. I personally just love it when someone gives up half a car length to me every time they step on the clutch.
This guy is either stuck in the 1960's, or a drifter .By the look of his pic...i am going with the 1960's...:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
