I watched Guardians last night...

well as far as a scifi movie goes this was pretty much perfect - the opening scene was (IMO) an emotional sledgehammer and then the main story started. And it had it all, action, humour, amazing scenery. SWMBO is not at all into scifi and came to see (nearly) under protest and she really enjoyed it too. Talking of enjoying it it struck me that the cast seemed to be having a blast as well

I have to agree. I really didn't have any interest in this movie until I heard all of the rave reviews from people who have seen it---so I went and was pleasantly surprised. The banter between these 5 characters, and their backstories make this movie in my opinion. It was fantastic.

Loved it! For those who are all caught up and plan to keep watching The Avengers series this is a 100% must as it explains quite a bit.

I finally got the chance to see GG and I loved it. It's about the best of the comic book movies they have made yet. The special affects were great but the interaction between the characters, their dialog and all the little things, like the Sputnick dog, is what made it for me. Did anyone stay past the credits for the last scene?

I totally agree and yes, I did.....

I loved it when Rocket and the Sputnick Dog met for the first time and traded growls, I found that hilarious. Plus, since I am older, I found the music from his mom nostalgic as I was a very young kid when those songs were out--made it that much better for me. I also picked up a bunch more details the second time around I watched the movie also.

Ok I just saw Guardians a third time. Each time I watch it I pick up more stuff I didn't notice before. This is really funny because while watching the trailer for this while seeing "Lucy" I recall thinking "yeah that looks stupid". But man was I wrong on this one.

I can't wait until it comes out on BluRay, so I can pick it up and I can catch all the many little side things and catch phrases in it. Plus it will be better in my H/T then it was at the theater anyway. I don't go to very many movies due to bad experiences. I usually just wait until a movie I want to see comes out on disk.

This was the last time I will probably go to a theater. I had an asshole behind me explaining everything in the movie to his stupid girlfriend during the movie. I was ready to kill him about half way through, even asked him nicely to shut up and he looked at me like I was crazy. I finally told him if he wanted to see daylight again he had better shut up and he finally did. I may have gotten old but I have only mellowed so much. I still have a boiling point.

Expendables 3 Review.

It was pretty damn fun. Seeing all those guys on the big screen together was awesome. For what it was, it had a good enough plot (better than the second). Mel Gibson was awesome as the bad guy, he really stole every scene he was in. Harrison Ford looked like he was having a blast (literally haha) It was a little less self aware than the second movie, so I thought the humor was better, less wink at the screen moments.

there was some bad though, the editing is horrendous. It seemed very obivous to me they had to make a lot of cuts to get this from an R to a PG13. Then that is the elephant in the room, the PG13. It did take away a bit from the action, especially bc the first two entries in the series had bad guys literally getting blown to pieces, knives going through people etc etc, this had lots of quick cuts and bad guys just falling over. Also the CGI was awful. How this movie had this budget and allowed CGI like that into is beyond me, it looked like it came from a PS2 game.

It does focus for a while on the young new team, and they were just ok. I was worried that Kellan lutz(from twilight) was going to suck, but he was actually pretty good. Rousey was ok for what she was there for, Powell and ortiz didnt really do much.

for just an action movie I would give it a 3/5. I do think an R rating would have made it more enjoyable not only for the gore, but it would have helped the horrible editing

Walk Among the tombstones looks like it could be really good, and The Drop looks awesome as well.

Fury looks bad ass

and Interstellar looks like it could be incredible.
