I'm a drummer and have been in bands for about 10 years. I was just wondering if anyone else on here plays? It seems like musicians love to work on hot rod cars and bikes. Or at least the do in Lancaster S.C.

I've been playing guitar/synth and singing since 1964. I have a weekend Rock/Classic Rock band. I've had the same personel for over 16 years in it! It is a fun happy lifestyle in my view. LOL

I don't talk it about it at all here but it's a big part of my life. I have spent GIANT amounts of money on PA equipment, guitars, amps, synths, transport vehicles etc.

I love it. Its very expensive and hard to keep the same band going sometimes. Ive been in top 40 bands and original bands. I was in a matchbox 20 band that was fun. It is a lifestyle. I hope I can do it for at least anther 20 or 30 years

Guitar player here... I started playing in '62 and was in bands until 1997 when I retired from playing in public, due to health problems.

Now I just build DIY tube powered guitar amplifiers just to stay close to the hobby.

I sure like what you're doing! That would be a fantastic hobby. I have dropped a fortune in NOS tubes too. Fat boy EL34's and STR415's NOS is a real problem for me. I buy all I can find... Preamps tubes too. I just dropped $630 for a few.... I tell ya, the less one knows the better off sometimes. (I think my wife says that, I stopped listening... HAHA)

PM your email I'd love to see the DIY builds. I would buy too.

I have a very large number of tube amps and just a few SS. My first amp was a 1964 Fender Tremolux piggy-back. I'm into Mesa Boogie, Marshall's & Fenders (these are my fav. 3 makers) Currently gigging with Boogie Mark IIC+ most of the time.

Too bad we weren't neighbors!

Percussion x 10 years. Just recently stopped playing, due to not having any free time.

My band puts all the money we make back into equipment. That helps but it don't matter where the money comes from. It's still a big deep pit. The cost of being on stage I guess.

Guitar, Tuba, Sax with a little Bass and Trombone...

Lately just guitar... Easiest to play around the house...

Haven't had the time to play anything organized for a long time...

yeah! I forgot you are a musician too! I've seen some really nice gear you have posted up :asskiss2:

I played the sax all through school too, but I don't drag it out in the band. That's what the Roland Guitar synth is for :)

sax! Man I wish I had of picked that up. I played bass in jazz band in high school. The sax players always stood out and rocked the house.

I dabble in the drums...can't buy my set quite yet, but I watch drummers and study how to play... always loved the drums, and found myself listening more to them than my trombone back in band class, haha

No shit??! haha, I played Tuba, baritone, then learned how to read music, got to Bass, guitar, then a little drums. I can sing too, but smoking for the past year and a half is finally taking a toll, and I'm quitting that shit quick. Good to know about other musicians here!!!
