Actually, if you are doing a lot of city driving 4.10 gears will probably improve your gas mileage. First time I ever changed gears in my car made me wonder why I didn't do it sooner.

Purchased. I changed my mind and went with 3.73s, mainly because of the highway driving issue. I don't want multiple-hour trips to be irritating with high RPM exhaust noise.

Thanks for the suggestions, can't wait to get these suckers installed.

the difference between 3:73s and 4:10s is like 200rpm at 70mph...

you'll wish you would have went with 4:10s

You have no idea how torn I was between going 3.73 vs. 4.10. I first assumed get 4.10s, but talking to various vendors and people, for a daily driver, non-drag racer with the 2011 GT auto gearing, they almost unanimously recommended 3.73s over 4.10s...

Indeed, I hope I don't regret it. I know how the 3.73s drive because my friend has them in his '11 auto, but 4.10s would be a shot in the dark for me.

Honestly, on street tires and never going to the drag strip, I doubt you would know the difference if you had identical cars with both sets of gears.

It's going to feel like Godzilla, either way...

K&N drop in air filter and a tune from one of the vendors here. Always make a dyno run to check things out before you floor it. DIY.

This will not be popular but it's true... Sure gears work great, but it's a mod that keeps on costing you. A true whine free installation? Hooking with street tires? Gas money? And if you ever sell the car and want to go back to stock, you will need the god of gear installations to find the original pattern, or buy a new set of OEM gears $$$. This I suspect is not a DIY for you.

Good luck-

not being able to hook is the tires' fault, not the gears. the same would be true if he bought a nice S/C kit.

as for gas mileage... the difference is negligable.
