Installed titanium ceramic coated JBA LT's and mating JBA hi-flow cats on my 2010. Eng bay temps dropped at least 40 deg F. The oem cats would hit 1850 F at wot..and ditto with the high flow cats. Problem with oem cats is...they reside at the base of the eng bay. The high flow cats reside aprx directly below the seats.
With the blower on... 3 blocks from home.... once in the driveway, after eng shut off for 3 mins, I can push down hard with 4 fingers, on any of the 8 primary's..and hold em down. You sure as hell won't do that with any un-coated exhaust. The theory is exhaust gases inside the coated LT's run hotter..and flow faster...enhancing their effect.
How much of the eng bay heat redux comes from the coated LT's and how much comes from not having oem cats at base of eng bay, I dunno.
IMO, ceramic coated SS LT's is about as good as it gets. They will last a long time, just use new FRPP header gaskets, with the D shaped holes.
JBA offers coated LT's in both silver ceramic, and also titanium ceramic. The titanium ceramic finish is more like battleship grey...and is rated for an extra 100 deg F over the silver ceramic version. You can barely see em once installed, esp on the driver's side with the CAI etc.
JBA suggests to replace the oem eng mounts withe steeda HD eng mounts..which I did. That also allows you the option of stock eng height, or lowering the eng in 1/4" increments. I lowered mine by 1/4". Lower the eng too much, and primary #8 will get too close or touch the steering shaft. Steeda also provides 2 x sets of mounting bushings, red / black. The black ones are stiffer durometer, and used for higher hp applications, so I used em. IF you had a shaker hood, it won't shake side to side, it won't budge.
I used the JBA catted H section, and the H is a full 2.5". The bullitt cars all got a 2.5" solid disc inside the H section..with a tiny 3/8" hole in the center of the disc... nuts. The 3/8" hole was for the..."bullitt exhaust note". You can also get a choice of either a 2.5" collector or a 3" collector. I opted for the 2.5" collector. Primary's are 1 5/8".
