I have had mine freeze a couple times in the winter with ice.
I couldn't roll the window down any and had to be careful opening the door.
But not really an issue.
There was no damage to the seal when I did open the door.

You don't need to disable it to have your windows tinted. I didn't, anyway. Just let the tint dry enough before you close the doors.

BTW, before you get them tinted, be sure to get some moleskin for the inside of your weather strips, if you have on 05-07.
Maybe I'm missing something but, what the heck is a moleskin? :omfg:

That brings up an interesting point. I wonder how durable these door seals are? I have had American cars from the 70's and their door seals were terrible. They would rot and wear out after a few years. Then the Japanese started coming out with a softer more pliable form that didn't rot so fast. I had a 91 Accord and after 17 years the door seals were still perfect when I sold it.

See here. I'm pretty sure they fixed the problem for 2008+ cars. I know my tint got scratched to hell from the stock weather strip.
Great tip! I never would have thought of that being an issue. Thank goodness they fixed it after 08. That is one reason they say never to buy the first year of any car, because you become the test subject for everything that will go wrong. It seems like Ford took a few more than one or two years to fix a lot of issues. Hopefully by 09 (mine) everything has been worked out.

Anyone know how to stop this so I can have the windows tinted. Like temporarily disable the auto drop then reenable it?

Just take the door panels off, it works better to do that anyway, the tint comes out much better.

Or roll the windows all the way up, disconnect the battery, and SLOWLY open the doors. Re-connect the battery after the windows are tinted but before you try to close the doors.
