The last I looked, which was a couple weeks ago...Holcomb isn't a forum vendor at present.
I guess their s197forum.com dues weren't renewed, for whatever reason.

Is there a bad buyer thread? I've got a small issue with a payment owed that's not getting resolved.


PMed you. Check your transactions for the last few weeks, if paypal didn't credit you the money lemme know. I really don't care about the $12, I thought this was settled weeks ago. I only found out today when I checked out my build thread. Sorry about the mixup.

admittedly I should have taken action on this a lot sooner, I am a little too understanding at times.

I sent James money on April 22 for the used short block that he listed in the classifieds section with the deal being that he would ship the engine to me later that week. That Thursday James Pm 'd me that something had come up and it would be early the next week before he Would be able to ship it, I communicated that that would be fine and to send me the shipping info when he dropped it off. Later the next week after hearing nothing on Monday I pmd James to inquire about the status of shipping, he informed me that he had checked around and shipping would be far to expensive and that he was going to just personally drive the engine down to me in KY from MI. I insisted that it wasn't necessary and that he could just refund my money and we would cancel the transaction. He insisted it wasn't a big deal, that him and his wife would be in Cincinnati that weekend anyway so he would just drive on down and deliver the engine to me, so I reluctantly agreed and arranged my schedule to allow me to take deliver. A few days later James pmd me again and said it would be the following weekend because he had forgotten about Mother's Day. So again I said that was fine and it actually worked out for me because it allowed my wife and I to head back home to see our Mothers for mothers day.
The following week James said he would be down on Friday night, spend the night and deliver the engine on Saturday, so again I completely worked my schedule around this information. After waiting around most of the day Saturday James sends me a Pm saying his mom had gotten sick and that he was at the hospital with her and he would get back with me as soon as he knew when he could get away to drive down. Being the overly understanding guy that I am I told him I understand that things come up and family comes first so that would be fine. Sunday evening he informed me that he would be delivering the engine on Monday. Monday comes and James informs me that his sons little league tryouts had ran over on Sunday and had to be rescheduled for Monday and that he wanted to be there for that and that he would definitely be down Tuesday. Well at this point I was a little aggravated but needing the engine I said that was fine and decided if it didn't get here Tuesday then I was requesting a refund. James contacted me and said he had started down, got dizzy and went to the hospital and was directed to go straight home to his doctor. At that point I told him that I understand things come up but I was at a loss as to what to make of the situation and that a I thought it was best for both parties if he just refund my money. He apologized and agreed to refund my money asap, (this was May 26th). After waiting a few days for it to hit my PayPal account with no results I pmd James with no response, at that point I decided to contact paypal and file a claim (30th May). Still have not received a response from James.

You are a pretty understanding guy for allowing this to go this long. I have patience too, but I would have asked for a refund when the 3rd rendezvous was changed.
