Wow, I don't really like jumping in on cock throwing fights, but.... In all seriousness, there is way too many variables to say the product was shit and sent knowing it was shit. I've worked in the performance industry for quite some time now and seen my fair share of fuck UPS and defective parts. Here are some scenarios that may have happened. While shipping, the product may have been mishandeled and damaged. Who hasn't seen that? The product may of have not been as described the first time it was purchased, never tested and passed on with the same good faith that was previously thought. Installatikn error. Any tech out there has messed up a job, messed up parts, etc. No tech is perfect. That's the bottom line. It is not impossible, no matter how reputable the shop is.

It's up to us as buyers to fully think out the consequences if buying used goods. Why? Because its exactly that, used. We cant shit on the seller completely because deep down you thought of the risk and in the end pulled the trigger cuz we said fuck it. If it works, it works. I went through this before and bought a product that was not as described, but it was an exterior part. Not mechanical. Obviously it was easier to call out cuz the defects where clear and visible, but for you there is way too many what ifs.

Only thing I can really say here is the proper approach would be to contact the seller, say hey this thing isn't working right what can you do for me? Maybe a partial refund, who knows... Looks like that ship has sailed though and is past that. Most the times we will get a sorry its a used part, then it is what it is. That's what I've learned through these years of buying and selling parts on the forums. It's up to us as buyers and sellers to make these for sale sections worth it. As buyers, we gotta be honest and legit. As sellers we have to set a limit to how far are willing to go on a used part....

You obviously don't know shit then. I have pics I took of my car on the trailer as well as a receipt for the trailer rental. You have nothing to do with this so fuck off, as far as you bolted3v, you can go fuck yourself. I've got a claim in right now on mustangfan06, it's amazing to me that you can man the fuck up and admit that you sold me a shit product whether you meant to or not. I know that it wasn't intentional. However, you have made no attempt to make it right. I have since purchased a brand new unit and had it installed. The same gears and everything were used. It's funny how it's perfect now.

dont want to sounds like a fuckin broken record again, but as stated in previous posts you had the chance to get some money prior to bad mouthing me. whats funny is that you replied to 19cobra93 about the trailer and not even to the actual pretty good point he made.
These mistakes are more common in gear installs than just about anything else. I have personally installed nearly 50 gear sets over the years, many of them included a new, or used, carrier of some sort. I've never, not once, seen a warped carrier. Not saying it's impossible, just saying it's not likely. I've had to correct a bad install of my own a couple times, and I would have loved to have blamed it on a bad carrier or gears, but I couldn't. The carrier in question is a takeout from a brand new car, and was one of many taken out to have Torsen diffs installed in the FR500S racecars at Miller Motorsports Park. That diff, when removed, was in perfect working order. These carriers are pretty robust and just sitting in a box isn't going to alter them in any way either. It's possible the unit could have been dropped which has the potential to damage the unit. It's possible it was just a bad install (a warped carrier should have been caught by the installer). With these possibilities in mind, there really isn't anyone to blame.
let me know if you would like me to translate it to chinesse, portuguess, arabic, or greek.

I've worked in the performance industry for quite some time now and seen my fair share of fuck UPS and defective parts. Here are some scenarios that may have happened. While shipping, the product may have been mishandeled and damaged. (doubt it as the 2 purchased units were well packaged and in about 2-3 inches of cardboard supporting it) Who hasn't seen that? The product may of have not been as described the first time it was purchased, never tested and passed on with the same good faith that was previously thought. (if inded was not, then why does the unit i kept fine? along with the plenty others sold? if indeed was bad shouldn;t all gt500 have a recall then?) Installatikn error. Any tech out there has messed up a job, messed up parts, etc. No tech is perfect. That's the bottom line. It is not impossible, no matter how reputable the shop is.

but he dosnt think so, he's more about blaming the wrong guy for a bad gear install rather than the actual person.

i agree to the above ^^^

funny part is the very same gears and posi out of my old rear end were dropped from about 3-4 feet high, dump the in the trash can, pulled out and given away to a friend and they so happen not to have a "warped" carrier :deadhorse:

It's kinda funny that the same exact person installed my new unit and it's perfect. You told me from the beginning I wasn't getting my money back so why not vent a little and let people know that I got screwed. I was talking to another member yesterday who said that you screwed somebody he knew as well. That's neither here nor there. I told you id send you the unit back at my cost and you refused. If you were that confident that it's not the unit you would have taken that deal, but you did not and that leads me to believe that you know this thing is jacked up. It's whatever though. Venting anymore or calling you names and blowing up on you isn't going to do me any good. Yes you did screw me out of $190 that I'll never see again. And half a year? I started my build at the end of January which by my calculation is 3 months ago. So if I bought that carrier from you exactly when I started(which I did not) then it has been no more than 3 months. I will be contacting paypal to try to solve this, unless you want to man up to your mistake and send my money back and I'll send you the carrier. That's your call. Good day.

Who was the shop that installed your gears and new carrier?

Wow...giving us decent vendors a bad name. Bad part about some of the venders (like me)...there's not a 'boss' or business owner you can go to.

Some of the guys like Jared etc work for someone who holds them accountable for thier actions. Looks like like this guy was out there on his own like me. That's why I work extra hard to be above board and johnny on the spot with my customers. I can't afford a any bad rep or reputation.

FWIW, I have dealt with Bolted 3V before, I've talked to him on the phone, text, email, PM, mutual deals, etc. and I hope his situation doesn't escalate because he's a good guy and doesn't deserve to have his iTrader rating history slandered.
