Scott - I would question ANY comparison where the tunes were dynoed after multiple pulls were done. I don't care who's tunes were being done.

that pretty much hits the nail on the head.
Also if cool down was really an issue why were the bama tunes increasing in HP each pull.

That generally is what happens when a tune is being dialed in.
Was the tune being adjusted?

I've found this to be true. These engines like heat, specifically higher ECTs. Everytime I've had mine on the rollers with the same tune I've progressively made higher numbers. Could be a fluid viscosity issue or a tame ECT vs spark table, I don't know.

First couple times I saw this I actually watched to make sure I was in closed loop, the difference was that big. Not huge, but bigger than most cars I've dynoed and tuned.

I know this makes the Lund tune look even worse or Bama look better but I couldn't care less, I don't run their tunes.

It was the tune he sent me. He didnt want to work with me so I went back to Bama. I still have his tune. Ill probably use it at the beach or something for the Cam'd effect.

Not a fair comparison IMO. Being able to adjust values using real time data logging and comparing it to a base "canned" tune doesn't hold water. I'm no Lund nuthugger as I have never run his tune and feel if I'm going to pay 200+ for a tune it will be a true dyno tune, but comparing a "canned" tune to a true Dyno tune where the calibrator can make adjustments based on what the car "likes" is fallacious. Fair comparison would be a datalogged and updated Lund tune.

And, yes, I understand you felt like he did not want to work with you for whatever reason, it unfortunately still does not change the variables of the test. This goes for "ANY" tuner, Lund or otherwise.

Ok. Thats fair and I understand. So lets compare the email Lund tune to the Email Bama tune before he made corrections....Yup still roughly 20hp difference.
If I have time before April 28th (Dyno day at my Buddys shop) Ill do some logs for Lund and have him correct the tune and then compare them.

Too many variables. Different cars like different things. Some love timing, some don't. Blanket (read Email/Canned) tunes are usually kept mild all over as different conditions have to be accounted for. The canned tune BAMA wrote for your car worked. Does not mean all canned tunes will work.

It's pretty common for most shops sending canned tunes to simply modify an original SCT value file with what they have found works "overall" and some will actually just send the value file as is. Now if Lund tells you your tune is spot on once it's been data logged and is still 20 HP different then either Bama's tune is really aggresive or Lund is way too safe.

lund is just very haed to get a hold of! I have sent him nemerous datalogs to make revisions if he saw the need to and i never heared anything back from him. He did in one email before the datalogs were sent saying there is no need for any changes my tune is safe. I than asked what about futre mods like boss mani, longtubes etc, and he said my tunes are set up for that.. I mean ok maybe but I am under the impression that every car is different and some things may need to be changed? but guess not. I mean it runs good, but I think some things as far as running super rich could be fixed!

the 5.0 likes to run rich. Makes more power. That's due partly to the high compression.

my canned lund tune made about the same HP as your custom BAMA dyno tune, and that was without a boss manifold.

Eh, on the strip I went 11.6 @ 118 with just cai/xpipe/tune/drag radials.
