I currently have the VVME kit from Ebay installed in my Mustang @ 6000K, and I've already replaced the ballast on the passenger side once since December of 2008. Also, the wiring wasn't plug and play and I had some corrosion in one of the connectors that did plug in. Yesterday, when locking the car, my passenger side head lamp acted like a strobe light, then wouldn't shut down no matter what I did. So, I had to disconnect power to it. I'm looking for a QUALITY replacement kit that I won't have to replace in 2 years like the one I currently have on the car. Any suggestions?

My personal opinion is that unlesss the car has HID's from the factory I would not bother.

Have you priced out the HID Headlights that come on the Mustangs from Ford?

Go to my web site SD Mustang Accessories, I have some goods. Yeah, the strobe light are usually the type that are not made very good or just went bad over the years.

I saw your kits Ed and I was also looking at the kits on Stangmods.com and American Muscle. They cost $100 more than the ones you sell. WHY? Is there that much of a difference? I like the lifetime warranty on the Stangmods kit, but, honestly it looks just like the one I have currently.

DDM tuning has a great set, very durable and 5k is pure white w/out any blue i have em on my car, but 4300 is pretty good, i saw them on my friends GTs fogs and theyre pretty bright and have the same color as halogens but SUPER SUPER clearer/brighter. oh and they do have a warrant, and good prices with sales every now and then

I have 5k from VVME in my heads and fogs, and needless to say I make enemies where ever I go at night. I recently had one of my bulbs from VVME shoot out of the back of the headlight but was still good, just had to put the bulb back in the housing. VVME sent me a set of new bulbs for free. But I think I am going to order from DDM tuning for my truck.

Those are big companies and they spend a lot of money. Take American Muscle, you see them every where and they spend a lot of money to be well known. They have to make the money from some place. Take the 2010 chin spoiler with LEDs that I have on my web site for $224.95. American Muscle has the same one on their site for $299. I'm not saying anything negative about American Muscle, so don't take it that way.

With a lifetime warranty, the company may be putting out a great product and will service you in time of need. The thing is they are also hoping/expecting the product last for a long time and that you don't have any issues. Also most people don't return an item or either forget about the lifetime warranty. How many time have you bought brakes with a lifetime warranty and when they had to be replaced you just went out and bought new ones, I have:thud:.
I can say that the HIDs I sell are checked by my supplier before shipping and they have a two year warranty. They are really good and not some cheap ones you'll have to replace any time soon.

Hope this helps?

That's my opinion as well. I went through two different sets of bulbs and the light was scattering way too much. Yes, it was bright, but not pointed directly to the road where it's needed. Guessing it's due to the housing which is not made for HIDs. I believe the HIDs from Ford are $1000+ for the set.

I went to this site and now I'm getting this.

yea i got the attack page thing too. and yes, HID lights will seer into the eyeballs of anyone coming toward you, they really are annoying as shit. Unless your in the country, where I could see the improved safety factor. But the difference in the kits is really only in the quality of the ballast i think.

I have kits made for the S197 and they have worked flawless for years. I had one issue where someone had a burnt out bulb and I replaced it ASAP free.

Most of the kits are made by the same company it depends on what options they choose and how you install.

Also if you order a 55w kit you are not using the right kit for a low beam. Right now I'm running a 12k kit on my car to be different, so far I love it more than 8k's.

Some headlights for S197's have a bulb deflector in front of the bulb built in the headlight housing. Try to use those headlights on a 8k kit due to they are 3X brighter than normal bulbs. I use the 2005 headlight's (original for me) that have these deflectors. I never have anyone flashing me and the 12k's react different and lower the beam more to-wards the ground as I have done testing.
