They waste a lot of product and I don't like the feel of them against the surface.

By the way, have any products you want to get rid of?

Exactly what I'm talking about!!! They just drag too much. Just feels wrong.

I'm sure I don't have anything that you would want. I have a few things in my tub of stuff I won't use, but I know you wouldn't piss on most of it, lol

Some of it I honestly don't know where it even came from. I found a brand new bottle of Nu-Finish, lol No clue, swear to God.

Just chuck that crap you dont need or use. I think I'm going to do some serious tossing out crap I know I wont use. I looked at the Nana blue but it says for darker cars and well.....

My favorite right now is Kolinitte 845! Goes on easy and doesn't stain the black trim!!! It lasts a while too.

I prefer Zymol Concours. Extremely rich and deep glow to it. Lasts about 1 month, it's more of a show wax than it is a traditional though. Roughly $200 for 8oz, nowhere near the most expensive wax out there though either. But a great bang for the buck if you're into that sort of thing.

Although 90% of a car's appearance is in it's finish, not the top coat of wax. If you polish it down, and get all of the defects out of the clear coat, pretty much any LSP will look good.

I am huge on using Wet Obsession, Pinnacle and Dodo Juice rainforest.

WO is probably my favorite wax. You can put as many layers of wax as you want, hot or cold, it wipes right off, and leaves amazing shine. Even after 4-5 months of driving through Chicago weather, the wax is still holding up on the car.

I want to test out of Dodo Juice supernatural. It's a very hard wax, however, the Carnauba content is extremely high, and the shine is unrivaled from what I can see. One day I will have that wax, LOL.

I like Supernatural. Its a nice wax. The only problem is, it tends to sweat. I dont think its that hard. I've seen alot worse. Rubbish Boy's Original edition is the hardest wax I've ever use and you have to scoop it out with a spoon and then heat the wax on the applicator. Usually just putting it up to a halogen lamp. It looks sweet when its done, but you could have put a couple of coats of souveran on the car in the same amount of time.

Carnauba content has nothing to do with a wax's shine. It adds to its durability. Carnauba is a hard dull wax. What adds to a natural wax's shine, is its oil content.

Manufacturers like Zymol, Swissvax, Dodo, Chemical Guys (They make Wet Obsession, e-zyme etc) use Carnauba content as a marketing term. As a "wax" that contains 70% carnauba would be a brick and impossible to use. Those high content figures are actually the % of carnauba in weight vs the other waxes found within the total compond as nearly NO wax product just contains carnauba as its primary wax content. Most contain candellila, paraffin, beeswax etc. Along with their other various ingredients such as oils, solvents, silicones etc.

Here's a little break down of some more popular waxes and why they are what they are:

Pinnacle Souveran: Very high oil content, goes on like butter, and comes off easy. Why? Low overall wax content, high solvent content, with a majority of oil content. This wax will look wet, but not last very long.

Wet Obsession: Medium oil content, goes on easy, off easy, as it has an extemely high solvent content. Tends to give a wet, but not deep look. Why? Again low content on wax, carnauba being the majority, but this wax is not natural, it uses silicones as a booster. Which gives it more of a shimmering look, that sealants give off.

Zymol Concours: Higher than normal wax content, typically in the high 30% (typically the true threshold of wax content vs total weight. Carnauba is near 50-60% of the overall wax content. Natural essentials oils, and natural solvent base. No slicones. Wax will last a good while, and give a natural wet/deep look. What do you expect for over $200? This is more of a 65/35 wax. 65% liquid, 35% actual wax. One of the higher waxes out there.

Swissvax Concorso: Again similar to Zymol, with the exception of it being less in the oils, more in the solvents, slightly more carnauba vs other waxes.

Hope this gives you guys a little bit of education on wax marketing buzz, as there is no such thing as the best wax. Only, the best wax for what youre trying to accomplish/budget.

Now, if you just want to win a show for best finish etc, just polish down your clear coat to remove all blemishes and jewel the paint with a non abbrasive lake country pad, like a red or gold jeweling pad. Although black and blue finishing pads can work just as well.

Don't even bother to wax it once the finish is done, just apply a show glaze (non abrassive), example would be like Meguiar's showcar glaze, or Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze etc, Adam's Spray Glaze (I'm not endorsing any of these products, just giving examples). These products are actually used to go on before waxes to "fill" and give an amazingly wet/deep look, but do not protect at all. They add dimension to the wax. But since we're trying to win a show, don't even bother to wax, you won't have any protection, but damn the car will look good for a few hours before the glaze evaporates off, since there is not a top coat to lock it in, lol.

So since about a week after I do a hand wash, clay bar, synthetic polish, wax and sealed. After 3-7 days I give it another hand wash but then... swirles galore, WTF this has happened after professional waxes and everything im using tw ice car wash with water sheeting then dabbing the excess water off with a MF. I followed the steps of the detailing post on this forum that's was like 3 pages long on how to detail a car. Am I doing something wrong should I add in a swirl removed in the mix of everything? This always happens I have tried going to fullers or a completely touchless wash and they are always there. I even tried a chicago auto show vender wax "z best" or something like that. What a crock!

Are you putting on "polish" and removing it like wax? I mean are you using a pure polish like Liquid crystal or some TW polish?

You're not going to actually get rid of your swirls unless you use a polish with cut in it like Ultimate compound, swirl-x, M015, M205, SSR1, SSR2, etc. etc. and a Buffer with a cutting pad.

Simply applying and removing a "synthetic polish" is not going to do anything but make it shiny.

I think you're using enough stuff to "cover up" your swirls, then as soon as the car is washed, you wash all that filler away and see your swirls again. You've probably never really got rid of them in the first place.

Lol well I was using a tw liquid synthetic polish look pretty but just covers it. Was the m205 discontinued because I look for it at advanced and never find it. Guess I should look harder and buy it online. Looking at the pb red wax to replace my meguires cleaner wax. Right now I used all shitty stuff like the pads that the wax comes with the tw clay bar, tw ice synthetic polish, and meguires wax and sealent. So im gonna start using natty red probably the same clay bar and meguires sealent. What pads and what polish?

Thanks man.

LC Hydrotech pads are what I use.

Cyan for M105, Ultimate Compound, Swirl X, etc. Whichever you choose. Don't use the M105 unless your car is really really bad, it's like liquid wet sanding

Tangerine for M205

Crimson for applying sealants (or you can use a standard blue or black LC pad)

Hand apply paste wax.

Dry the car with a leaf blower, IMO it's the only way to fly on a black car. Any other color and I use MF drying towels.

I get most of my stuff from detailedimage.com if it's a big order (save shipping by ordering at one place.

But for single items I just look on Amazon first. I shop around for the best deal.

I'll PM you a discount code for DI now. 10%off

They for sure have not stopped making M205. It's probably the most popular polish in the world. If it's not, it should be. Order online. Fuck Turtle Wax and all the other crap you are using. Stuff costs more for a reason 90% of the time.
