I do like the brembo wheel. But I want to ditch them for two reasons:

1. They need to be refinished. The original finished has "splotches" from age.
You can probably find a perfect used set for less than the cost of refinishing yours.

Here is the same car before the stripes and wheels. :) Just needs a little lowering and voila.

2. I gotta have that concave look. That's what I really really want.
Have you looked into Shelby wheels?

They seem to be getting hard to find these days. They are concave (some more than others) and really look good on the '10+ cars IMO.

I think black goes better with brighter colors of paint and silver or chrome goes better with darker colors
With that said... IMO the black looks great on your color, gives it a aggressive/sinister look.

I totally agree.

Plasti dip yours black and see if you like the contrast. Quick, easy and cheap to get an idea if you like the black.

A while back, I plasti dipped my Forgestars just for fun. 2+ years later they are still PD'ed black and IMHO, they still look good, although I did put on a fresh coat after changing my tires.

First of all, I think the choice is really individual as far as rim color. But, then again, I'm not looking to stand out. I put away the notion of 'showy' colors many moons ago. I prefer to be a bit more stealth these days so, my take on this subject may not register with many.

I believe, for example, that the stock rims on my car are a perfect match for the overall look of the car, I believe they blend well with the body style and color. My only beef with the rims is that I can't get them in a 19x10. They are black and silver.

However, if I may step outside myself for a moment and address the present situation with a bright yellow or even, red car, if it were mine and I chose a black rim, I would want a color accent added to the rim in the same color as the car, no matter what the color is out side of a black car. I believe a color accent would help blend the wheel with the car.

Choosing a silver, chrome or even gray rim on the other hand, has more to do with the rim style than with matching and blending IMO.

The silver center with polished lip suggestion is a great idea. Will look great with yellow. Might make for a more expensive wheel though...

You're probably right. But the Brembo wheel isn't concave enough for what I'm wanting to achieve. :( Are Sportlines the lowest spring I can put on without going to coilovers?

I'll have to check into that!

I think that may be the best solution yet. Just find a design I like and then make my own color, so to speak.

I agree with that. Brembo wheels are now available in 19x10, but it's just the barrel that got stretched. Had the center of the wheel become more concave, I'd have a set already. :)

You're probably right. I'm so fickle about wheels, it scares me to dive into a pricey set knowing that one day I'll wake up and want a new set. :killer:

To me it all depends on what you envision the car looking like when youre done with it. If youre planning to do black accents all around the car the black wheels would make the most sense. You should step out your comfort zone and do something off the wall. Like polished copper wheels or bronze wheels. Those colors would look killer against the yellow blaze IMO but the tone would have to be nailed. So something like a darker bronze wheel.

I have a feeling I'm not gonna want to pay that kind of money for the time being.

OR you can spare having to give up 2 kidneys and get THESE from John.

I think this confirms that.

I think that finish is sick. This is where I miss having a white/black/silver car, because, to me, you can do Gold/Bronze/atypical finishes and colors without it looking like a Formula D or FF car. I do think Dark Bronze would be great. But as you said, I ultimately see the car having a black roof, fog delete or Boss Grille, and maybe a black stripe in the future.

Personally, I see Silver on at least 8/10 Mustangs. I see less and less Black on cars.

Chrome is tacky to me when it is overkill (Trim, Wheels, Engine accessories, etc.)

Black or a Dark Stainless would go better than a bright Silver or Chrome on a color like that.

Not a black wheel person but black with polished lip would look nice on your color.
