I am doing a Boost Brothers turbo install. I know there will be plenty of bashing about the kit but I don't care. It's what I can afford.

I have the complete kit, all piping, turbo, & BOV

I have a tial wastegate, 39lb frpp injectors, and KB Boost-a-Pump.

What else should I need to do the install? I plan on Upgrading the Turbo and BOV hopefully soon.

Couple Pics.

Its not neccesarily what you can afford, its what you think you can afford. You will easily spend double or tripple what you planned when all is said and done for all the supporting mods, little things and tuning.

That being said good luck with the install. I reccomend using copper rtv sealant on all the exhuast connection. Heat wrap on at least the up and down pipes. Also your hot rods cams are going to hurt spool and power band with the turbo. Turbo's dont like agressive cams with tight lsa's and lots of valve overlap.

Also post a better pic of the wg that doesnt look like a genuine tial.

Thanks for the info, i figured the cams wouldn't go well with a turbo, wasnt planning on going FI when i bought them. And the wg in the pic is the generic one that came with the kit. The tial one is being shipped.

Is there any other parts i should need to make it run? Is a KB BAP enought if your only trying to make 425-450. Hp?

Gotcha, yeah bap should suffice, turbos have a lower bsfc than a supercharger so you get more power for your fuel, but I personaly wouldnt run a bap with stock pump over the 425rwhp range as I like to operate with the 75-80% of the limits of the fuel system.

Wow.. That intercooler looks tiny. I think that is one of the first things I'd be looking to upgrade as well. A friend of mine has the BB kit on his SN95. He has had it installed for going on two years now. Took him about a year to get all the kinks out. I could be jaded, however. The intercooler that came with my Novi 2200 is 24” x 13” x 3.5” and has 3" inlet and outlet.

OP I still have my GT500 pumps if you're interested. You could rig a piggyback setup with your stock hat, like Lightbalde did and have all the fuel you would need.

Good luck with the install, I've been interested to see how one of these plays out. I see you are at Riley, did they give you the military discount as well, they offer one last I checked!

Subscribing good luck to you on your project.
Invest in a good boost controller, wideband and electric oil pressure gauge.
You can always run a Walbro with the bap.

This one is 25" x 10" x 3.5" and has 3" in and out. It should be fine but I wont know until I get it together and running.

I am going to run the stock pump for now with the BAP but if it doesn't work out to my liking I will let you know.

I am looking at a AEM Digital wideband and a Turbosmart boost controller and boost guage. they aren't too expensive so I will probably pick them up.

My only problem right now other than I still haven't started working on the car is getting it tuned. I can't find a tuner close to me that I trust or that doesn't want to charge me $2,000 to tune the car.

Can anyone give me an estimate of what a normal price would be to tune a turbo'd car? I am in Illinois right now, and so is my car. The best thing I can think of is Brenspeed and I am about to give them a call.

The tuning problem is the only reason I have not started the turbo install. I don't want my car sitting there all turbo's up but can't be driven...

worst comes to worst, id get an email start up tune from BBR, datalog the car, send them the datalog and let them adjust the tune. multiple times until your satisfied. but id rather strap it to a dyno

The guy I talked to at Brenspeed told me to call Bob Kurgan. I am hoping he can do it.

I will give BBR a call now. I just ordered my BAP from them a couple days ago.

Where in IL are you located? Bob has tuned my car a couple times now and it runs great!

Kurgan's shop is actually located in GA now, but he comes back to IL every 4-6 weeks to tune. He will actually be back this weekend, but Im thinking your car wont be done by then. Another great option is to get ahold of Tim at Mr. Norms garage. Kurgan will even tell you to use him if your scheduling doesn't work out... Both of them should be around the 400-550 for a dyno tune.

Im gonna suggest you also check out www.chicagolandmustang.com while your in the area. Great mustang club and if you need help with anything its just a post away.:thumb: If you have any questions or need help shoot me a pm.

Also, you will be fine with the BAP. Im using one on my car and it has not been a problem...

I am in Pinckneyville, IL. Down by Carbondale.

I am starting the install tomorrow and hoping to be done by the weekend. We have a shop with a lift (thank god) so it should go by alot quicker than it would with a jack and jack stands :D

I would give Bob a call or email ASAP. He's gonna be at Deans Performance in St. Charles this weekend so your gonna need a start up tune to get the car to him.

I might stop at Deans on Sat morning to watch a buddies fox get tuned so maybe Ill see ya there...

hmm, I have a flatbed wrecker so I might haul it up there and see what he can do.

Edit - Just seen that St. Charles is 6 hours away from me. I will see how much this guy wants to use his dyno for a few hours and give BBR a shot at it :)

Another tune option is contact lito or Eric Brooks. They both have extensive experience and will do remote tuning for you. They will send you a base tune to get you up and running then have you data log so they can fine tune it. Several members have had good luck with both guys.
