Brake lines

I picked up a set of Brembo's, plan to install, paint rear brakes, flush the fluid... started thinking do all that, what about the lines?

Are GT & GT500 lines interchangeable?
Are they the same, or are the GT500's somehow upgraded?

Stainless braided, the Russell's appear substantially cheaper than other options, is this a "you get what you pay for" or the others are just more name brand?

yes they are the same.. Gregg H. has a set of Russell lines.. Maybe he can chime in ..

I just installed Russell lines this past weekend. They quality was real good. Better then the Earls I had on my 06. I also just installed them with the brembo's and they fit fine. Flushed the fluids and installed earls solo bleeders, which by the way are the same as the gt for the brembo, you just need 4 total for the front.

I've seen certain lines on various cars that are too long or short, or just flop around

I use Goodridge SS brake lines on both my road course cars. Excellent quality for a reasonable price.

Are you using any speed bleeders on those lines?

Since the lines are the same i would keep the stock lines and spend the money on something that makes HP. If they need replacing then go ahead. I used SS lines on my vette, no improvment, but i needed new lines.

I sell both Russell and Goodridge, they are not the same. Mostly the fact that Goodridge has all the correct mounting blocks and such, just like stock lines. Russell's, at least the last set I had in hand, did not. I prefer, use, and recommend the Goodridge. They cost a little more, but fit perfectly.

Are you using any speed bleeders on those lines?

I use Speed Bleeders on both my road course cars and have had zero issues. Just inspect them as part of your overall technical inspection.

Ok dumb one, what is the brake fluid capacity? Want to go ATE, not finding local.. need to order the flush + bit extra for bleed waste but don't want 14 gallons sitting around.

1 liter (container) should be sufficient, but I always buy a 2nd one for bleeding the brakes at the track.

ATE Super Blue (or Gold) DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid.

Your local German car tuner should have ATE DOT 4.
