broke all 8 plugs!

I must have the worst luck. All 8 broke after following the tsb exactly as it said with more soak time. They all left ceramic in the sheath. What are my chances of getting all 8 out with the tool off amazon?

You must have a shitload of miles on that thing. I've never heard of all 8 breaking, especially after following the TSB.

you need the tool to pull the porceline and the tool to pull the sheild.

there are some cases where the porcelin comes out with the plug and leaves the sheild but this is less likely.

I got my tools for cheap off of ebay(I forget the company but the shit worked).

I don't suggest going strait to rotunda becouse they charge retarted amounts. more than snap on.

snap-on has a complete kit that allowes you to do 4 at once to save time if you wanna spend the money.

either way I am to the point where I just ignore the TSB, remove the plugs like I would any other engine, and have the porcelin/shield removal tools sitting on the workbench just waiting to go.

Not even on high milage stangs have I heard of all 8 breaking, me personally at 23k I followed the TSB mine all creaked and squeaked and were tough but none broke

Its got about 80k on it. I think they all broke on the first 1/8 turn. Cause they all didn't make a sound coming out :/.

I just looked up my COP numbers last night on my '08, and was dismayed to find that I have the old style plugs. Shit. With 20k miles, I'm thinking it's time to do a plug change.

Do it... I have over 76k miles on my car and have to do the job.... I'm going to follow the TSB, but fear that not all of them are going to come out. I shall be following the TSB to the T however.

Damn, that sucks, I've got 70k on mine and I bought it used, so I don't know they've been changed before. I was dreading this before, but now I really am.. I may just go ahead and buy the tools before I do it. good luck man!

I was thinking about changing over to the one peice champion plug when I do change them as to hope to avoid the issue again.

Pb penetrating oil let it soak... Full turn out... Next plug full turn out... So on on all 8 lye it soak a little at a time as you back them out

I used aero kroil on them and let them sit over an hour. I think they all broke on the first turn because not a one made noise when coming out. I would suggest anyone doing this have the tool ready.

you can't get that thing out with a coat hangar and glue, I tried LOL.

I love your dedication. I probably would have stopped after the first 2 or 3 broke. But your pressed on. LOL Get the tool, they can be found cheap and you'll be fine. Make sure you use that coating anti-seize on reinstall

I had about 55k on mine and it left 4 sheilds in the head. My uncle used kinda like and easy out taped to an extension and we got them out fine. no issues and im up to 65k

I stretched mine out over a 3 day deal did each plug a little turn at a time till they all came out while they soaked
