Broken spark plug in head procedure.

Just my opinion. Sparkplugs diagnose problems better than computers. They can predict an upcoming issue.
I recommend pulling and checking gap and residue on them as often as you change your oil.
I call this an, "ask the car how it feels" checkup. It will speak volumes to you about spark duration, air / fuel mixture, and so much more.
Enjoy the cars.

Good practice. I would be very surprised if you ever have a frozen/broken plug issue.

Do we know if SP-547 fixes this issue at all? Or does it really not make a difference.... SP-547 vs SP-514... 547 seems to still be a 2-piece build

I have seen that the latest revision has weld on ground electrodes so maybe it is a one piece plug?
FYI, I just replaced them for the first time since 2006 and the key to success is a left-hand torque wrench and patience. I already put it in the "what have you done" thread.

The SP547 and now SP547X are still a two piece plug where the barrel attaches to the threads, but they (Motorcraft) have included a nickel coating now for most of the revisions post breakage issues so they shouldn’t be sticking in the heads. The SP547X now has the ground strap welded on vs being cast on prior revisions.

I have the SP547Xs in my car with them in and out a few times and no issues sticking at all. So I would use without hesitation.

When i bought mine they were already changed but taking no chances i put a bit ceramic grease around the shaft where they can carbon up or rust. I still take them out once a year to make sure everything is ok LOL

Just pulled out the original(?) plugs from ‘08, but w only 11k miles they came out easy, although one was slightly sticky & required a little back & forth.

My chronic mechanical empathy required blowing out the upper plug boot well, then inserting a 1/4” tube at the end of a hand vac to suck out any debris from the lower plug well before installing the new ones.

I replaced them with these SP547X & a light smear of Permatex nickel anti seize.

My current GT500 was built on May 27, 2008, so there were no issues with replacing the plugs. When I ordered my 2007 Ford Mustang Roush 427R, which was built in Mar 2007, I installed the BRISK one-piece plug to eliminate the issue when I got the car home from the dealership.
