Alex told me today I wasted my time and money and he says he doubts I'll get a refund. I'm local. I'm walking in the store. He can't hang up on me at his desk. They loaded the tune for me inside the steeda store in pompano.

My car is ten time faster reset to factory compared to the steeda 93 tune.

My car runs better set to stock than it did with that steeda tune. It popped and missed above 4K and was a slouch above that. Only think I could tell a difference in was the slight throttle response. Deff way underpowered with the steeda tune.

If Steeda is not willing to datalog then that means they do not have any tuners in house. They bought a library of canned tunes and then resell those tunes. They probably do not have the means to make adjustments, so of course they are going to tell you their tunes are 'perfect' and the problem is either your car or your SCT unit.

So, have you bought a real tune from Alex yet?

The guy that tunes was there. He uploaded the tune on my programmer. As soon as I get alex a datalog he will make me a tune. But Florida is rainy season and it's hard for me to get a 3rd gear pull from 1500-7000 accurately because my car will not hook in this rain. So the first dry day I'll get his catalogs and I'll report back on how well the tune works.

I puschased the steeda tune and it crashed my sct tuner and my car wouldn't start. I called steeda back and they said call sct. Sct re set my tuner and I re uploaded the tune like steeda said. My car runs like crap. I asked steeda if I need to data log to see the problem and their response to me was there isn't any data logging for our tunes because they're perfect. I'm getting 9.6 miles per gallon after I uploaded the tune. After 4K rpms it falls on its face and pops and back fires. I called steeda again the said my factory ecm wasn't update. I took my car to for ford and they said that wasn't the issue. Sct also told me my car or my sct x4. I've also talked to vmp and they said I was wasting my time. I've tried to get this problem solved via phone with steeda and the guy hung up on me telling me there is nothing he can do about it. So I'm going this afternoon and demanding a refund because this tune I bought isn't. but I've talked to others that had this same problem in my circle here in Florida and they didn't get a refun either. Any suggestions?

Hello Lee,

I apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced, we are 100% committed to customer service & this does not sound like something our sales professionals would say - may I ask whom you spoke with on the phone?

Yes, we do data logging when a tune is not acting correctly but based on some of the feedback I have received, it had more to do with the SCT tuning device.

You said you are stopping in & asking for a refund - when are you stopping by - I will ensure you speak to the manager regarding this issues.

Steeda has written 1000's of tunes - we have been in business for over 28 years because of our quality & commitment to the customer - our tunes are written to be safe, reliable & powerful - without causing harm to your vehicle.

We will get this sorted out for you.

Best Regards,

TJ

Yes rod gave me a refund and was nice as can be to me. But my tune did not work. He said it was because I changed my ecu strategy and that wasn't the case. I called sct and I have the same strategy since I bought my tuner but he refunded me my money no questions asked but everytimw I asked if he needed me to data log he said my tune didn't need any data logging. Well if it was running crappy after 4K popping and missing data logging would have been the next step I though. Like I said water under the bridge and I'm going to be buying some suspension parts from him very soon and I'll deff do business with him again.

Alex is THE MAN! VMP is awesome with service and their tuning is great. I have not had an issue with them at all. You'll be happy with the results. VMP or Palm Beach Dyno are great places for Coyote remote tuning in Florida.

FWIW you would greatly benefit learning how to upload a tune onto your tuner and learn to datalog for yourself. Its not hard at all especially with a laptop. VMP tells you which PIDs they want logged, what to log and how to perform the idle cold start, ramp up, and WOT pull. The datalogging software is a free download from SCT as well. Datalogging and/or live monitoring can become a great asset down the road if you start having issues.

I've got a lap top and have data logging down pat. I just need a good tuner to work with.

Alex @ VMP is the man for you then. He takes the time to answer your questions and gets your revisions back to you in a reasonable time frame. The whole crew there is very respectful, and service driven atop being excellent at what they do. Sorry if I read into your post. I was under the impression by how you stated things that you were having a local tuner do your datalogging, tune uploading (to the tuner) and PCM flashing. My bad.

Alex = yolodb?

The one and only. I never knew who he was (I don't Facebook) until someone told me to go on youtube and search for his videos. Working with the man for over a year I would have never guessed him to have even been a New England Native. He's very polite, patient, and professional on the phone. Doesn't make you feel talked down to and knows his stuff. Had he been the cocky, arrogant, overly vulgar New Englander on the phone with me that he portrayed in those You tube videos I would have told him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine regardless of his ability. He's apparently found a way to separate himself from that character he created (at least on VMP hours) which benefits him very much IMHO.

I've been taking to alex for a week via face book. He knows his stuff. After I installed the faulty steeda tune my car will not idle piping out of the exhaust and throwing code 21000 and my cel is blinking. I'm so frustrated my car ran like a top before I dealt with steeda. I'm beyond furiated

Hello Lee,

I understand you spoke with SCT regarding your issue - what came of that conversation?

I wanted to provide some feedback as we feel this is not a Steeda tune issue - as we have written many tunes, including the same tunes that are sold through the Ford Dealer network on our Serialized Vehicles.

You called us after installing the Steeda tune in our Pompano parking lot and said it did not make any power and that our tune was 'pulling timing'.

Rod asked you to return the car back to stock and then reinstall the Steeda tune, as it seemed like you did not install it correctly.

We understand you called SCT the next day saying you locked up your tuner and you were unable to start you car ... Rod advised you to also contact SCT for this issue.

You said SCT spent 4 hours on the phone with you, two (2) of it downloading a recovery tune into your tuner, while you had your tuner and laptop connected to the car - our contact as SCT said they remember working with you & that it wasn't a Steeda tune issue up until this point - the tuner causes the Steeda tune file to become corrupt.

While all this was going on, per our tuner, Rod instructed you to go to Ford and have your ECU updated with Ford's latest revision of the OE file.

We would then get you a new tune file based on that revision.

You told us that you called Autonation Ford (of which, Steeda partners with) and they said that updating the file will not change how the car runs ... so you refused to get it done.

Rod tried to explain to you that yes, that is correct, but it does change our tune files, which would change how the car runs.

Like I previously said, we have a great track record when it comes to writing tunes & having many happy customers - but if the proper steps aren't followed, we can't guarantee the tune will run effectively, hence the corrupt file.

Please feel free to give us a call at 1800 950 0774 if you would like to discuss more.
