So my funding isnt looking like where i want it to be to get a blower...so im exploring my options for spending a little bit less.

Currently my car has the mods listed in my sig.

Were i to add FRPP Hot Rod cams, Long tubes and an O/R H-pipe what kind of numbers could i expect to see at the tires? Of course i know every car, tuner and dyno is different but im just looking for a ballpark figure.

I can't tell you what numbers the dyno will read, but it should give you enough to run low 12s.

You should look into our BBR NSR style cams.

They don't have the overlap that the HotRod cams have, but ours make more power and still have a great chop.

I would guess between 320-330whp, I'm guessing you make around 280-290whp now.

im gunna say the frpp hot rod cams and l/t header and o/r h pipe combination with a good tune give you about 50 extra ponies to the wheel on the middle end side of things.... say up to 60 extra rwhp on the 'wishful' side of things.

Combine those mod's with you JLT cai i say your looking at an otherwise stock GT making about 330-340rwhp on a good tune.

I would be having Gearheads Performance in Arlington, TX do the install and tune. They seem pretty reputable from what ive seen.

The thing you have to realise is that cams/headers/x-pipe not only add horsepower. They also move your horsepower peak from 5600 rpm up to about 6200+. Even if you gained 0whp, making the same whp over a wider rpm range allows you to go faster.

If you are looking more power, go with comp stage 2 cams and springs gonna cost alittle more though.

Travis tuned my car at gearheads. i have comp stage 2's XFI VSR cams, stock exhaust CAI and stock 3.55 gears. i put down 332rwhp and 328rwtq and ran 12.5x (cant remember off the top of my head). i have a set of LT and 4.30's sitting in my living room, i just need to get off my lazy ass and so put it all on.

If you mean Comp stage 2 SPR cams, then yes it will cost a bit more, 500-570 more.

You need the upgraded valvetrain because the lift that those SPR's are capable of cannot be met by the stock valve springs, so you would have valve float if you didn't change them out for higher lift ones. You also need phaser limiters to limit timing to 20 degrees vs. the stock 60 degrees so you have enough piston to valve clearance.

Springs- 290
Metal Retainers- 80
Phaser Limiters- 130 for Livernois, 200 for Comp
----------------------------------------------
So the total for upgraded valvetrain is 500 or 570, not too bad to prevent engine damage that could cost up to a few thousand to repair.

Then you add in the cost of the SPR cams, and the total is 1150 or 1220 now- these prices are based off of ones on radmustangs.com. There is a 35-40rwhp gain from those cams, but dynos are just a tuning tool, so the real results should be tested at the track. :beerchug2:

if you want power up top, don't skimp on the valve springs. Even the ones Comp says to use are too weak. So your stock springs are certainly too weak. Go up one level.

So you'd recommend someone who is buying valve springs should spend the extra 40 bucks on the hi-rev comp springs?
