That's odd. My new aerial was ready to roll. I uninstalled the old one, ran the wire, and threaded my antenna on. In the pic, it looks like a piece is threaded into the base. Can you remove the piece that's threaded into the base?

That may be the issue, I need the piece that threads into the base. Who wants to sell me one?:beerchug2:

Damn, I usually walk around with threaded antenna adapters in my pocket too.

So the antenna you have right now doesn't have a threaded piece sticking out? Because IIRC, my antenna aerial was "female" and my "male" antenna threaded right in. No adapters, no nothing. Just like this:

The factory antenna I have is exactly the one in the picture. Problem is, the antenna aerial is also male so I need something to adapt the two.

And you can't unscrew the male piece from the base? I have yet to see a an antenna base from Ford that was male instead of female.

I spoke with Tasca, the metal rod is actually a piece that is used as a guide. That piece twists off with a wrench and now it's fixed. Nice to have a radio again after 2 months.

That's what I figured! Glad your ordeal is over and you can get back to commercials and talk radio.
