The search button isnt working on any of my computers ive tried. so..

Today i took the mustang to work, which is a lot of hwy driving with hills at 60-65mph. anyways, i was gonna let it coast down a long hill to save gas like i do and i popped the car out of 5th and in neutral, the rpms droped down to around 650 (normal idle) , fluttered a bit then died.

i didnt realize it died untill i put it back in gear to climb the next hill and was like wtf..had to turn the key of then back on and pop the clutch while it was coasting to start it back up.so i did this a coouple more times and couldnt figure it out. but it wont die on my if im coasting under 60mph on the road..

i was just wondering if anyone else has or has had this issue. maybe its my bama 91 race tune? i know my buddy with a '12 gt that dies when he comes to stop lights and pushes the clutch in. its like it wont idle. and there are no codes or dash lights on

i have checked all my hoses, wire connectors. maybe clean my throttle body? im kinda clueless as its not a big deal. i just wanna figure out if its normal or not. my 01 never did that and i think it might be something to do with the drive by wire system.

sorry for the long post guys . i tried searching the site but again the search feature honestly doesnt work on here for me. the screen just turns white. and i think i placed this correctly in the tech section as it really isnt chit chat. its a little more serious. im sorry if its considered chit chat though as i do not.

I would agree, its the tune... I had a similar issue with a JDM tune... Under 40 mph coasting would idle fine...above 40 MPH and it would die.

Future tune revisions cleared up the problem.

100% tune IMO

Most likely the dashpot setting - get with AM/Bama they should be able to make an adjustment

Crap!!!!! this just happened to me today! I was coasting and when I went to take a turn the steering wheel was really hard and I was like "Damn I really messed something up" but when i looked down at the speedo the rpm was at zero. The car had turned off when I was coasting. I am also running BAMA tunes...

i was running the bama 91 race tune. so i switched it back to the 91 performance and i will see it that does anything

just got off the phone with bama, the rep said to try another tune i have and see if it still does it (which was my plan anyway). they didnt seem to think it was tune related though. so ill keep you guys up to date as i do some trial and error

600-700? Is it fluctuating at idle? If you go into your tuner, what's your idle settings?

The reason I asked is I've had people set their idle too low after the tune was done because they liked the sound.

I've been having the same issue for a while now. Ive cleaned and eventually replaced the MAF, cleaned the TB, replaced the air filter, replaced fuel filters and spark plugs. It's not as bad as it used to be but it still happens especially If it's raining or really damp outside. It also tends to happen more If I'm running the defog or A/C. FWIW I run a 93 tune from EVO.

I changed the tune back to the performance instead of race (which I had my issues with) still haven't got a chance to get the car out on the hwy to test it out.
