I did do a search 1st.

swapped out oil pump gears (have done a few sets) now car will not turn over with key.

acts like a neutral safety switch (car is an auto) I can turn the key on and jump the starter and car will fire right up... although the wrench light will come on and set codes 706-707.

any helpful knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

yes I did. the ground on the timing cover. loosened the ground by the fuse box, disconnected all coils, and cam sensors.

I would guess you checked all those?

the codes seem to be trans related

Yeah, I'm seeing range sensor. Battery all charged up, and haven't done a flash since it was last fired up?

706 -
The TR sensor outputs a duty
cycle indicating manual lever
position. This DTC sets when
the duty cycle is greater or
less than commanded by
50Hz. GO to Pinpoint Test C

707 -
The TR sensor outputs a duty
cycle indicating manual lever
position. This DTC sets when
the duty cycle is 8% less than
commanded. GO to Pinpoint
Test C

Pinpoint test C is worthless on the docs I'm looking at

Any jockeying of the trans harness done or any chance of a pinched wire? If all grounds are tight that is out. Maybe something funky with the pcm, maybe try flashing back to stock and testing if it will crank.

And have to ask, using the right key? I'd think pats would disable injectors if that was an issue, but who knows.

PATS uses a visual anti-theft indicator located in the IPC . The anti-theft indicator proves out for 3 seconds when the ignition key is in the ON or START position. If there is a PATS concern, the anti-theft indicator either flashes rapidly or glows steadily when the ignition key is turned to the ON or START position. PATS also flashes the anti-theft indicator every 2 seconds when the ignition key is in the OFF position to act as a visual theft deterrent. Refer to Section 413-01 for information on the anti-theft indicator.

What does the anti-theft light do on the dash when the key is in the on position?

From reading what the service manual says, that makes me think it isn't pats. I'm all out of ideas

after 5hrs of pin point tests from my buddy (ford tech) cam sensor on the back of the right side head had shorted out ?

he said any other tech would have replaced the ecm and still not fixed it.

cost me a cool $400. but now I know the TR sensor is inline with the cam sensor on the back of the heads, in which I did not touch.
