Im looking at getting a new hood and looking at the cervini hoods. They offer to paint it for An extra $300. Has anybody done this? I can't seem to find a shop to paint it for less than $800...

That $300 is just for the top of the hood. The bottom will be done in a black finish, I did it and they did a great job!

When I bought my Cervini's 3" cowl I had it painted and installed by them since I live close. The paint was flawless and matched exactly. I wouldn't hesitate to go with the option of them painting it. I can't vouch how it is packed and shipped, but my experience was very good and I would recommend them.

I'm just worried since I have the vista blue with the darker color if the paint was a little off it would be noticable...

I've got Grabber Orange and that's a hard ass color to match, but they pulled it off wonderfully! Don't worry, if it doesn't match just send it back.

Edit: They also do a great job on packing!

my shop painted my front bumper, fenders, and hood for 450.. why are they charging you so much for just painting a hood?

No kidding. Sounds to me like they are overcharging. Sometimes shops do that because they don't really want to do it. It's usually your "insurance" shops - you know, the ones who make their money off of repairing cars vs. doing custom work.

maybe they have an outside source do the painting, so they gotta charge a little more so they still make money off it too??? just a thought

My only concern would be fitment, if they have perfect fitment, then it sounds ok to me.

My Cervini Ram fits great. Could use a block sanding as it is wavy in some spots.

Agreed way cheap for this area as well. I gotta wonder about quality being that cheap

Cervini offers it painted directly from them? I have only seen their hoods at the popular mustang parts places, never with a paint option. I really, really want to get a Cobra R hood. Hmmmm...
