Cleaning the Wheels

I was wondering if anyone has used the product http://www.everbritecoatings.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14&products_id=53 I have a set of 20 inch wheels from www.wheelreplicas.com with painted centers and mirrored lips. Anyway with the weather being so nice I got to actually do a real good cleaning on my car today since we have been having such shitty weather in md. All was fine and good untill I got to my wheels the lips of my real wheels look like shit.... I have no idea how to get whatever is on it off of it. I have tried a clay bar, soap and water with a brush, wheel polish with a power ball, I am basically running out of ideas. I am really hoping that they are not ruined seems how they arent even a year old but am feeling like they may be. If anyone has any suggestion I am completely open to trying some things out to see if I can save them. Or if I am just screwed then let me know also. I am not sure if anyone else has this problem but surely someone out there has. Thanks

Sounds like a job for chemicals. Are the mirrored surfaces chrome? If so, have you tried chrome polish? Or maybe just some bug and tar cleaner? When all else fails, try something mildly abrasive. Maybe start with something like Megiurs Scratch Remover and work up from there. This is probably blasphemy, but I've had some luck with Comet.
