Hey guys, quick question: I'm seeing if I could get away with installing my delete plates and then driving it to my tuner using my pre-delete tune. Just make sure I keep it out of boost and don't beat on it? Tuner is only about 10-15 minutes from the house. I've been experiencing issues with my CMCVs being stuck open, and when they are she runs a little on the rough side and pulls a few degrees of timing. Would it be that much of a difference between the CMCVs being stuck open and installing some CMDPs?

Why not just get a base tune or modified tune from your tuner? If he already has your current tune on file it will be pretty easy for him to modify.

Unfortunately, that's not happening. Sucks. I just need to get it from point a to b to get it tuned. What I might wind up doing is firing it up after I do the install and see how she runs . I'll log and everything. If I feel its alright, I'll take it over, I guess.

Not happening, as mentioned above why not just install at the tuners?
The problem is she might not run at all lol.

Thanks for the inputs. I'm going to do the install. See how it runs. If it doesn't, I'll put the stockers back on and do the install at the tuners.

Yeah, if it was as easy as getting an updated tune from the original tuner, this would've been an easy day. It's all good, though.

I just did the delete PLUGS but in the instructions it did mention that if you didnt have a tune, you could plug the motor back in with out the arms connected to trick the computer to thinking it was working.

Then it would be a matter of just unplugging the motor and removing it once the tune was adjusted for it.

I still don't get it. Whoever is going to tune your car will have to work up a base tune to start with. All they do is give you the base tune to get to the dyno. It's no extra work for the tuner. Many do it. Have you asked?

Well guys, I did the install. It was a breeze. And she fired right up, too. Ran a little rough for a minute and then settled down. Idle A/F stayed between 15.0 and 15.5. Let her run for about 10 minutes. She didn't throw a code either...which seems a little strange.

And Bruce, I understand what you're saying. Please trust me when I say my situation is just not that simple. I appreciate the input, man.

She ran smooth all the way to the tuner, too. Some numbers from my Dyno tune today. I picked up 15 peak whp and 25 peak wtq. However, I picked up 32 wtq and 27 whp in the mid range.
