Here are a couple of pics of one of the Weld XP series wheels that I have.
As you can see there is no inner wheel lip to be found. This combine with how the wheel spokes on inboard of the wheel hub face gives these wheels tremendous clearance for the caliper face as well as the top of the calipers.
Here are some pictures of the Greg Weld Dragstar 15x8 5.5 BS
As you can see they have a big inner lip where the diameter of the inside of the wheel shrinks by a good 1/2" This is why these wheels will NOT work at all on my car. There is no way I am going to grind the top of the caliper as it is where all the structure and strength to the caliper comes from. The 15x10's that are on a fox body in the shop has this same lip but it is near the inner face of the wheel spokes. That you might be able to grind the front of the caliper and get away with it but since they only come in a 6.5BS max they would still stick out past the wheel wells by at least 3/4" of an inch.
