I just wanted to say thanks to the people who put this together. I got some summit stars(521's) in a 15x8 and ran them for the first time yesterday. They weigh 20lbs and the 275/50 MT ET Street Radials I have for them weigh 31 for anyone who wants the weights.
thanks dude...im running the same tires...do your tires pop out of the fender like half inch?

"weld/holeshot style shank lugnuts" ...

Ok so I picked up some Weld 90 series 15" rims, and need some long shank lugnuts. "1.310" long x .687" dia. Mag Shank for 15" dia. Wheels" for the 90 serioes Welds.

OK, so what thread size/pattern is needed for our cars? From jegs, it lists under Weld lugnuts for that length/diameter:
12mm x 1.25 RH closed end
7/16'' RH open end
1/2'' RH closed end

Just a guess, but do we use the 12mm one?

And there's other brands, too; what have y'all used for such shank nuts?

I tried my JEGS prostars and draglites today. Both had the exact same fitment which was not fitting. A 3/8 spacer the wheels locked up so for the hell of it I added a 7/32 spacer on top of that to get an idea of how much grinding I would have to do and they still hit calipers. Im buying Bogarts for mine, I don't feel like dealing with it.

I tried some Weld Draglites 90-58340's in the back (15x8, 5.5 backspacing), on my
'05 V6, and had some serious fitment issues. The backs will not fit unless I use about a 3/8" spacer or do some serious grinding of the caliper MOUNTING BRACKET. I tried grinding off the corners of the bracket about 1/4", and it helped, but not enough. And that was with the caliper moved off of it and out of the way.
Those wheels might fit later years and/or GTs, but I couldn't get them on my 05.

There's no issues with the sway bar, just the brakes.

I'll post pics in a separare thread about trying the wheels.

A Forum member on here has an 07 gt like me and im going to follow his build and hope to have the same luck he did when putting them on his 07:

"Jegs 15x8 with 5.5 BS rears, no spacers or anything. fits nice with no modifications to caliper or anything. real weld prostar fronts, 15x3.5, and a 1/2 inch spacer. With the longshank lugnuts, you DO NOT need to replace studs, and you wont have to grind the cailpers either."

ill be ordering at the end of august *fingers crossed*

Are pics and parrt numbers available? Most people who have real Weld's are saying with a 7/16 spacer longer studs are needed but if there is a way I would love real prostars or draglites up front.

page 2 has pics this is not my car just a forum member who gave me the tips on getting the 15inch wheels that will fit, which im going to try in a couple weeks. http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa300/SlvrS197/

also here is the part: http://www.jegs.com/i/Weld-Racing/927/96-54200/10002/-1 , and he said to use 1/2 spacer not 7/16th and he didnt change the studs.
