How often do you all normally top off the coolant? I have ~19k miles on a 2006 and I think the level seems low. I have a 2003 Windstar with 182k miles and it barely needs any attention. Is it just a thing with these cars?

You must have a leak. My car has 30,000+ miles and I have never needed to add ANY.

Its only about a 1/2 below the cold fill line (bottom one) and it has not been touched ever. its the original coolant from the factory in 2006. I would assume some loss is normal after 4+ years. right?

If there was a way for coolant to escape out of the system then there would be a way for air to enter the system which can cause pockets in the cooling system and you will have over heating issues. Only thing I can tell you that besides pressure testing it to about 15psi is what the cap says on the reservoir, is this the first time you've check it? It is possible or highly unlikely when this car was PDI (Pre Delivery Inspected) that they didn't fill it up to the cold full line like they were suppose to.

4 years ? Time for a change. Swap it out, then check it once in a while.
