How much can I expect to pay a reputable shop to install rods/pistons on a gen 1 coyote?
No, would be using the block in the car. I understand the job is more than pistons and rods. Just trying to get a ball park of what I’m looking at. I plan on having his done by the end of the year.are you giving them a bare block that doesn't need machining?
Call L&M - they are about a 40 min drive from you. I'd guess you'd be looking at 1500-2000, for machining and balancing and installation. No, would be using the block in the car. Will do. They aren’t far away. And that’s actually cheaper than I’ve been thinking. Ill report back what they say.Call L&M - they are about a 40 min drive from you. I'd guess you'd be looking at 1500-2000, for machining and balancing and installation.
L&M said they do not work on cars.
They told me to check out the short blocks they offer on their website.
Sorry, yes, I need the shop to basically do the whole install.oh you wanted the shop to pull the motor? that wasn't clear from your post, I know L&M doesn't R&R, only engine builds, your posts talks about rods/piston install, says nothing about pulling the motor and tearing it down.
No issues at all yet. I’m pushing a lot of power to the wheels and would like to reinforce the bottom end before something bad happens.is there an issue with your current motor?
it may make sense then to buy a built short block and have a shop swap it over, either sell the OEM short block or keep it as a spare.
Is the L&M block better than this?

The block at AM is about 1k cheaper after you subtract the 6% discount.
How much could I expect to get for my short block?
