I'm looking at buying a VMP TVS kit from a seller. Seller is including the SCT tuner that has the tunes for the TVS and is stating that the tunes that are loaded can be used by the buyer.

My question is: If we have different PCM codes, will the tunes on the SCT still work on my car? His car is a 2011 GT500 and mine is as well.

Nope. You will need a new tune, and in my honest opinion you would want that anyway. Every car could be different and you want the tune for your car, and checked with data logging...

OP, Even if it did work, you would be nuts. Don't ever scimp out on a tune. So not worth saving a little money by cutting corners like that situation, unless you want a new motor..

Wasn't really planning on running the tune that is on his X3, was more or less just curious to know if what he was stating was true or not.

I agree that the tune on a car is by far the most important part of build.

He will have to return his car to stock before the SCT will be unlocked. You can then marry it to your car but if you have a different PCM code then his, you can't use any of the tunes in the unit.
